Good night at Bellerive tonight. Only Ronchi looked dangerous for WA. The rest played like they had a party to go to. Tassie are in the finals but will do it tough without Cossie & Rana.

Re: Australian State Cricket 2010/11 (II)
In team news, Test opener Phillip Hughes has been dropped from the squad while Stephen O'Keefe will also miss the clash with a calf strain.
Veteran Phil Jaques comes into the side for the out-of-form Hughes, with former skipper Dominic Thornely recalled to the state side for the first time this season to cover O'Keefe.
It seems Matty Mott has a few more clues than our NSP.

I know i'm banging on about it, but Adil Rashid was again very impressive. Fantastic variations, and the Victorian batsmen had no clue, really.
Looks a much more confident bowler than a couple of years ago.
Yardy and Tredwell FFS.

Aye, Matty Mott has the balls to look past "limitlessly talented player of the future" bulltwang and simply look at his form, technique and attaitude. Phews DLTDHYITAOTWO.

Not seen him, but read that he's bowling off-breaks as variations.
Interesting.
Hope that doesn't mean he's thought: "Jeez, this leg-spin stuff is difficult to get right, and yet an arseclown like James Tredwell can win Test caps for barely functional offies.... Hmmm, perhaps it's time to ditch the leggies..."
Re: Australian State Cricket 2010/11 (II)
Nah, he's bowling an offie perhaps once an over. Still bowls the googly as well. Got some good turn on the MCG wicket when he slowed it down and gave it some flight, as well.
He's got all the tricks up his sleeve. Knows exactly what fields he wants, as well.

Re: Australian State Cricket 2010/11 (II)
Let's hope he goes well in the Windies with the Lions and gets himself into the England reckoning for the summer - they're off to the subcontinent the following winter, so an established leg-spinning all-rounder would be the preferred choice as second spinner...

Carters isn't that good, and Finch is a tad slow against spin first up.

Re: Australian State Cricket 2010/11 (II)
So the future of Australian batting struggled against the future of English spin bowling?
Good signs.
