Re: World Cup 2011
Wasn't that song played only for the SA-WI match ? I guess they played it whenever SA got wickets or scored 4/6 ?

Agreed, Trev, but it's easy scheduling for the Program Director when you can block out 4 hours at a time to something.Henry wrote:I dislike the Fox Sports 'highlights' of games in this World Cup. Most of the games are dull enough as it is, but to dedicate four hours to each replay of a game is far too long. The highlights should only be an hour for each game.

Good come back from SL, they were brilliant for the first 4 overs of the batting powerplay.

Lankans in strife. Not sure even the mighty Sanga can pull this one off for them.
Odd to see Afridi back in destructive mode - with the ball.

300 ODI wickets for Shahid bhai!
What a player, one of the greatest limited overs players in the world today.

No drop catches, 1.5 missed stumpings how ever there were numerous other missed run outs and drop catches by others.vilkrang wrote:WTF they've let him back in?PlanetPakistan wrote:Kamran Akmal back to his worst

Brilliant performance from Shahid bhai and Shoaib made up for all the fielding lapses.

Great win by the Wacksters. Impressive bowling from Afridi, and as alluded to, excellent keeping by Akmal. Lankans always looked like the target was just out of reach.
Onto Bannies v Poms. Hope it's a good one.

Re: World Cup 2011
I've been coerced into watching this one unfortunately. Should be great fun, we'll probably get hammered which won't be fun and even if we somehow win, it's meaningless at this stage anyway.
Great tournament, innit?

Great we're doomed then! More than the result, I'll be looking to see WTF our tactics are in the field because there seemed to be a complete brainfade in the last game...

I hope that we bat first, really don't want to see how much India can get against our attack.

And after the first week, i'd say South Africa have looked the most impressive side so far.

Broad out due to illness. Surely they'll bring in Trembers? Need at least one tall 'bang it in' bowler against India, you would have thought.

Re: World Cup 2011
Bresnan, Shahzad, and Anderson as the seamers. That's just stupid, imo. Three almost identical bowlers. No variety at all. And Yardy replaces Bopara, just to make things even worse.
By the way, Anderson hasn't taken an ODI wicket in India since October 2006, and since then his combined figures in India ODIs are 0-302 off 45 overs with an economy rate of 6.7. What a shambles that he's still being picked.
