We can use the choke word anyway.vilkrang wrote:I actually want SA to win this I think, either way it's going to be funny though, if India win then we can all use the choke word, if SA win we can laugh at the entire stadium sat in stunned silence. Good times ahead .

For the stats nerds. Was India's the greatest all time ODI batting collapse?

India's batsmen lost them the game but I couldn't understand their selection. Nehra ahead of another spinner? Weird.

Aye, said as much yesterday.Henry wrote:Canada v New Zealand and Kenya V Australia. FFS.
To be fair this world cup hasn't been as boring as I thought it would be (mainly due to England of course) but days like today are best left forgotten.

Jeez, they've just gone back to the Foxy studios during the drinks break, and Bolly looks deadset p!ssed. He unshaven and slurring. Maybe he was nervous before his first appearance and got on the cans?

I have no idea what possible 'insight' a guy like Bollinger could offer. Hardly the sharpest tool in the box, is he.

The greatest collapse and choke was Ganguly's side failing to chase Lanka's total of 300 at Sharjah final and getting all out for 54.

to be recognised as a great choke, though, you have to look quite competent and controlled at some stage, even safe, before degenerating into a Keystone Cops parody of decapitated fowls

Having some friends over this afternoon, including a cricket fanatic from Orissa. Oddly, I look forward to it more now than I did 24 hours ago...

The only reason that crap Lanka final counts as a choke was because it upheld the tradition India started of making most finals and choking since summer of 1999. We went on to choke at least dozen such finals before tying a couple of finals default on account of weather/rains causing match abandonment and that Natwest thriller against England.

Even then yeah, I suppose 9/29 must be the crappiest now that I take a second look at that Sharjah final. The first wicket fell at 8. the rest for another 46 runs.

Unshaven - or wearing a face toupee?
Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
An interesting look at lowest test scores of all test playing nations. Among all below 50 knockouts, India & WI features just once. Bangars, Lankans & Paksters none. Eng & Aus twice. The snoozers thrice. And leading the pack with 7 below scores are the Saffars of yore.

Mmmm. And only three or so of those occurrences post-date 1960, and reliable covering of wickets. Most of those debacles occurred very early in Test history, when there were only three Test nations ... and were probably suffered on minefields.
