Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
Wonder how much would Vilkrang would have paid to watch those 2 Aus collapses coming as they did in Ashes?

The other Victorian, and a Hussey, must be a tad peeved he was jettisoned for Paris.lardbucket wrote:Meanwhile White flops again.
Victorian, not called Warne ... remind me why he's in the team again?

The only reason that crap Lanka final counts as a choke was because it upheld the tradition India started of making most finals and choking since summer of 1999. We went on to choke at least dozen such finals before tying a couple of finals default on account of weather/rains causing match abandonment and that Natwest thriller against England.
batty still trying to prove that banindia are the greatest chokers.

Hey Vilks, I am quite happy to concede the title to banindia. Just can't understand why batty is so gung-ho about it.

For both Bagai and Hammy these were the highest scores versus a top-8 team.
Should be a win by 100 or so in the Aus v Ken match. Good to see Hussey moving alright.

I am not being gung ho about stats that can't be swept away. We have been title chokers a long time. Things have a changed a wee bit after Dhoni became captain [Thank Gawd]so maybe we may make the finals. SA still takes the cake for choking before finals [ ].
I just don't get the confidence we have the MO that can score and help us beat either Pak/SL/Aus in a QF/SF is all. I wouldn't be surprised if we even see a Pak/Eng final this time or a Pak/SL one for that matter. Most team forms are real crazy atm moment and anything can happen.

That's gotta be the epitome of a lazy 320 made without a shot of anger. Just nudged it around and 300+ is ticked up easily without too much fanfare. Well played Pup and Paris.

The idiots that account for an Indian 'middle order' can take lessons from Aus on some sensible batting........

Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
Harsh.
Some analysis anyway...
Group A is basically going down expected lines.
NZ has become the second team to qualify for the QFs. If Australia wins this (and just quietly that is looking very likely), they too will have qualified, with Kenya and Canada being out of the running.
This will leave the only uncertainty whether Z or P gets through.
The Zimbabwe v Pakistan is kind of a knock-out match: if Zimbabwe beats Pakistan (unlikely) and Zimbabwe beats Kenya (likely) and Australia beats Pakistan (likely) then it will come down to NRR. I would give Zimbabwe about a 10 to 1 chance of getting through.
Things are more open in the other group. So far no team has qualified and only one team has been eilminated (Netherlands). That's right: from here even India could miss out.

A creditable performance but even with everything going well, it is hard to see them get within 50 of Australia's score.

Obuya makes HS by a Kenyan against Oz beating Kennedy Otieno's 85 in '96 WC. No Kenyan has made a 100 in a WC so far - highest 96 by Steve Tikolo against the Lankies in '96.

I hope last evening's Indian innings after 40 overs of batting is investigated by ICC. If nothing at least it should shake the idiots out of their beauty sleep and wake them up to seriousness of their actions.

Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
Collins left on 98 not out. Needed at least three off the last ball but just managed a single.
Australia wins by 60 runs, a comfortable though not crushing win. Can't help but think that Kenya was not always playing as aggressively as required.
SO, Australia qualifies for the QFs with still two matches to play.

Poor Obuya stranded at 98. Well played the man. It's nice to see so many minnow sides showing more grit and determination than some over-hyped Indian superstars.

Another very mediocre performance from our bowlers, only taking three wickets between them against a bog ordinary minnow side. My prediction that Aust will go out in the Semi's may have been a little optomistic.
Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
no killer instinct this Aussie team. Showed in the batting. Didn't see the bowling, but the card/margin speaks for itself.

People should be talking about match fixing now(just to be consistent)
Rumors are growing with almost every match between 2 test countries.
