Re: The Wimbledon Thread - anyone for tennis?
Keeping in with the tradition of Brits doing appallingly in recent times, I'm fully expecting an early exit from Murray.
Saved from the ignominy of being a first round losing champion at least...
Of course, he might not be British for much longer...

No suprises there. She never has been able to play grass. From memory i think round three is her best effort to date.

Boom-tish.
Stosur was overheard in the sheds saying "grass is for cows".

Looks pretty good value that, even if his record on grass in recent years has been relatively poor. Murray has been injured and struggling to get back to last year's level, Djokovic the bookies' favourite but having lost 5 of his last 6 Slam finals, Federer impossible to write off but perhaps just past the point of no return in terms of winning another big one.

Nick Kyrgios jus beat Gasquet 10-8 in the 5th set having saved 6 match points.

The fact that this Krygios has been around for a couple of years now and I still haven't the faintest idea what his old man's name is, is extremely encouraging.

What were Krygios's predecessors accused of that caused them to be shipped to New Holland ?

I am surprised that JGK hasn't posted this:
The insistence on all-white at Wimbledon this year has had some unforeseen but not necessarily adverse results.
no coloured bras allowed
apparently* they don't all have access to white bras

That's three years in a row he's lost to an unknown at Wimbledon! I was watching the football and assumed he had it under control after losing the first set as in each of his previous matches...
So Federer presumably gets one last shot at title number 8 against either Murray or Djokovic.

Just seen it's the Swiss derby in the QF as well, that could be a tense one although Stan hasn't done much on grass in the past. Banana skin for his legendary compatriot though.

I blame skully, I mean Fred. In this case I can't even blame my own mild dyslexia.
Surprising result, though I guess grass has never been Nadal's favourite surface. A boon for the young bloke, though.
