Well played Djoker and cheers for winning me some cash at least.
Might put 50 of it on Australia just in case....

Federer's first Wimbledon match was a defeat to Novak (Jiri), might his last be defeat to another Novak?

Re: The Wimbledon Thread - anyone for tennis?
So not to be for Sir Rog.
Nerves can get to the very best (his first serve, the basis of his tournament to that point, really let him down), and he was also hunted down by the Big Cat. No doubt partly fear of those returns that also put Fed's first serve out of kilter.
Congrats to Djok. Some misfiring at the business end of Set 2 apart, pretty much played his perfect match of combined athleticism, speed, power and determination. And some nice touches, good to see those too.
(Still hate the God is Good bit!)

Tomic arrested. The sense of entitlement by this very average tennis player is unbelievable:

Re: The Wimbledon Thread - anyone for tennis?
This follows on from his drink driving charge and resisting arrest on the Gold Coast a couple of years ago.
I think it's time for Tennis Australia or the ATP to take serious action against this vile individual, and ban him for a year from ATP tournaments.

Not sure how you can ban someone from doing their job for a year for something that has nothing to do with that job... the new generation of Aussie players do seem to be qunts though, determined to outdo the cricketers perhaps?
Aussies 2-0 down to Boratistan in the Davis Cup as well, Kokk and Nasty Nick both beaten.

If he has a criminal record, will he even be able to get a working visa to play in the US Open?

I think a new thread was started each year.
Surprising to see the Fed go out. Opens it up for the Joker.

The final will be a walkover unless this second semi goes the distance in the same way (and they will at least get a break overnight if it does).
I can’t imagine any of the under-30s on the circuit having the stomach for a match like that, and that is the reason why no man born in the 90s has yet won a Grand Slam. Maybe tennis’s next big star will be a post-millennial...

26-24 in the 5th. Yikes.
So Anderson has played 74 5th set games in his last 2 matches. Yup, he'll get smashed in the Final.

Re: The Wimbledon Thread - anyone for tennis?
10 hours of Centre Court tennis and they can’t get two semi-finals completed! Should they start earlier on such days?
I wonder how they will schedule this, presumably the women’s final won’t be moved so it’s either after it or on No.1 court?

So Isner has now played the two longest matches of all time.

The only saving grace for Anderson is that Rafa and Novak have to finish their match on Saturday. It could also go into a long 5th set.

Interesting, to consider. It might explain why some of these evergreens continue to enjoy success. The instant gratification generation cannot maintain their concentration for too long.
Serena dominating too. The equal pay seems to be giving men a raw deal here. Anderson wants tie-breakers in the fifth set.

And lost both.....all that has to happen to beat 'John Isner Very Good Tennis Player' is, hang on like hell till you get to 20-all in the fifth and wait for him to choke.
If Enderson hadn't played half a tournament since Wednesday he'd be a sneaky chance tomorrow, esp against Rafa who has lost to some big-serve hoons plenty worse than him over the years.
