Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
Wow, that must be a massive drop in pay for Emerton.
And you are being bit harsh Trev, with your assessment of Harry's likely form and fitness "I bet you he shows up fat and unfit, does nothing for the first half of the season before being out injured for the second half." He is guaranteed to score or set up ONE brilliant goal that Victory will dine out on as evidence of money well spent. Afterall, Harry has been doing that every season for 15 years - great goal then limps off with a groin or hammy for the rest of the season.

.
Yeah me thinks it perplexing. It must be for some other non financial and non footballing reason.
Perhaps his kids are at that age and he wants to bring them up in Aus or he has a daughter and he wants to keep her away from Vilkrang

Aye, given he was one of Blackburn most consistent last season. Homesickness is a powerful thing.

Ipswich ship 12 goals in 2 games and sign midfielder Jimmy Bullard and Striker Daryl Murphy.... those tactics would never even work in Championship manager!

I dunno - you could win games in CM with a 2-2-4-2 formation.
James Flood. Legend. Goal machine extraordinaire. Must've been a glitch as in real life he never made it out of Stockport reserves.

I flicked over to see the end of the Chelsea v Norwich game, to see that 11 minutes of injury time had been added! Did the stadium roof collapse?!

Four goals to Dzeko - Wow.
I might get on the Man City bandwagon.

4-1 to United today, I fear. Arsenal will struggle to make the top six this season barring a miracle.

Wow, this is truly woeful from Arsenal.
Wenger will be out of a job by the end of next month at this rate.

Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
This United side are on fire, to be fair... Arsenal have had their moments but their increasingly soft centre shows. Still think they'll bully the relegation candidates and finish 5th or 6th at worst.
Chelsea might still have something to say about it but at the moment it looks like there may be only one city contesting the English trophies this season.

Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
They've done nothing to address the "Barcelona problem", i.e. the centre of midfield, but in terms of attacking threat they could be pushing for 100 league goals this season. So could City, of course...
