and dhoni goes first ball
this has to be the lowest moment in indian cricket after the 3-0 and 2-0 losses to aus and sa in 1999-00
and to think we were on top of the world just a couple of months ago

Can Brezzy Lad be dropped after this phenomenal performance with bat and ball?

Why don't you practice what you preach and not talk about it then?
Vikas,
Taips, you, jonty and mudge were getting into it - I was pretty much not talking about it (read what I've written again). I was just incredulous at the thought you reckoned he was turning for a 4th run. When he blatantly wasn't.
And I can say that Henry, taipan and jonty were getting into it before me. Either you get in and debate or you don't, just don't tell the rest of us 'not to sob' when by definition you're howling with the best of them when you get into the debate.
As for whether he was running or not, I saw it, I say he deserved to be out. I say that I would never have retracted that appeal, not against Strauss who has the farking stones to ask the Indian team to change their minds.

Anyway, well played England - comprehensive win and deserving # 1. I have no hesitation in saying the better team won - easily.

You blatantly know they'll drop Morgan and play 5 bowlers on the strength of this tail performance (they'll forget the incredibly weak top order batting the preceeded it)
Re: England v India, 2nd Test, Trent Bridge, 29 Jul-2 Aug, 2011
india deserves to lose this series. the preparation and team selection has been atrocious. i am not sure if the bcci cares about staying as no. 1 in tests

Yep, I reckon Tremlett will still be straight back in if he's fit for the next test. At least there's a lot of competition for places.
the only other option is for England to play 5 bowlers if Trott is ruled out of the next test. Wont happen though with England likely to be 2-0 up.

We went through this yesterday, all told, the only reason I bothered to jump in was because (repeat!) I thought that you'd thought he was running a fourth when he'd tapped in an obtusely not waited to hear 'over'. I'd have been pigsick if my team had done it but that's me.

TO:
It might have been a different story had the IPL not called by with the big bucks.
The BCCI finds it hard to resist that call.

Blimey.
Tis all...
India have been stupidly underprepared and that's shown a hint of arrogance imo. Complete contrast to how England prepared for the Ashes.
2-0 could be series winning already. India has the talent to win 1 of the remaining 2 tests but both? Doubt it.

In every aspect of the game, Dhoni has been awful so far in this series. And he's the game's highest paid player......

Either you debate or you don't. I don't care what your reasons are, or why you 'bothered'. But if you bothered and came back into the debate, don't tell the rest of us not to 'sob', ok? You're doing what you're telling others not to do, and it doesn't matter that you only came back because of xyz.

hard to argue. the fact is that the ipl is here to stay, its too big to shut down
problem is that the ipl will always interfere if/when we have a test series in may-june

Lowest score by the Bannies at The Bridge - 157 in June 1959 (the series they lost 5-0).

Significantly more chance of a whitewash than a drawn series from here. Return of Sehwag and Zaheer might change things but seemingly too many players who go missing when things start to go against them.JKLever wrote:Blimey.

Very much doubt it - only 2 draws needed after this match for England to go top of the Test rankings. Bopara will replace Trott though he will bat at 6 with Bell staying at 3.
