Only three teams are 3-0, and two of them are the perennially crap Lions and Bills! The lockout may have made this season even more unpredictable than usual.

Following the Bills is like following Spurs. You can but hope.

Re: NFL 2011/12 thread
Bills lose in week four. To the Bengals. The Bengals! And Detroit is the only unbeaten team in the NFL. The world has gone mad.
Patriots @ Oakland being screened on terrestrial TV in Aus, on One HD. It's the worst of all possible worlds, with the CBS coverage from the US being easily the wrorst of the five networks that cover games there, being relayed through the Ten network, who are, and have always been, traditionally Australia's most inept sports broadcasters. Already several key plays have been missed because the work-experience kid in the control booth decided to stick in extra ad breaks.

Apart from Green Bay, easy to forget the defending champions I suppose... Still, they're in the same division as the Lions so one of them will have to lose soon!Zat wrote:Bills lose in week four. To the Bengals. The Bengals! And Detroit is the only unbeaten team in the NFL.

this thread seems to make little sense at all
there are lots of head injuries in this sport (despite or because of the helmets?) and permanent brain damage ... so players become fans?

Poor Sam Bradford. He desperately needs some help. That game against the Redskins was a nightmare for him.

Re: NFL 2011/12 thread
The Oakland Raiders Owner, Al Davis passed away aged 82. A remarkable man, the likes of whom will probably never be seen again.
He coached the team, became General Manager of the team, bought into it - eventually becoming the owner, and winning three super bowls. He also spent some time as commissioner of the AFL during the football war of the 60s.
Unfortch, Oakland in the past few years has become a shadow of it's past self, but I suspect Houston may find this weekend's match a lot harder than they anticipated it being a few days ago.

I read somewhere (can't find the article now) that the Raiders were originally due to be called the Señors, or possibly the Señores.

He has been ever since the end of last year's regular season. Must be some remarkable stats over that period of time. Looks on for MVP though Brady might still have something to say about that.

Brady throws the match winning TD pass with 20 seconds to do. Positively Peytonesque.
Rodgers is a lock for MVP.

The Colts showing that without Peyton Manning, they are nothing but a rabble. New Orleans 62 Colts 7. And the sh!tty Seahawks and the Cleveland Browns produce one of the dullest games in recent years, Cleveland winning 6-3 in a game bereft of touchdowns and dominated by 'putrid offense' according to nfl.com

They're going to have to work hard to surpass the Colts this year. They're becoming positively Homeresque in terms of suckiness.

I watched Alabama v LSU yesterday
110,000 people to watch a school game. That's freakin mental.
I watched because there was some big Aussie playing. All he did was waddle about like a turtle taking a dump

I saw the LSU punter interviewed after the game - he sounded Aussie as well. They were making some big deal about one of his punt which went 73 yards - apparently one of the longest in history.
I watched a bit of the game. Fark me it was dull. The Oklahoma game looked way more fun.

Yeah - he was aussie too. There was a story on both of them in saturday's SSPFSP. The average return on his punts is 2 feet.
Was the Oklahome game the 52-45 one?

Aye - looked like kids rugby full of islanders attacking and YTs defending.
The sad thing is that this will probably guarnatee him a million bucks a year for the next 20 years.
