The Alabama kicker missed 4 field goal attempts including one in O/T. Might be a bit frosty around campus for him

The poor qunt will probably get some spiv investment banker to look after his pay check and all that will be left after commisions will be just enough to keep him in hookers for the year

Hopefully the Green Bay - Chargers game will be replayed tonight.
Although Steelers-Ravens and Pats v Giants looked exciting as well.

ditto. Shame I can't bring myself to watch games the gutless dog killer plays in.
My boyf went to the London NFL game, he said Cutler was awesome.

"Fort-aaayyy" great commentary. If the Bears win and break Vick somehow during the game, that would be nice.

Bears score on the stroke of half time after a couple of stoopid plays by the Eagles.

Thanks embee. It just makes me mad that a team took him on after that. To say nothing of what a cretin he must be.

I had to look that up. Ugh.
Anyway. Go Bears!

The President and head coach have just been sacked and the vice P is looking at 'stir'. Just need Oregon and Oklahoma to do the right thing and watch LSU smash Boise in the NCG.

And Penn State fans are rioting. Way to go, cover up child abuse! Yeah, heroic!
Not that he himself covered it up: "Mr Paterno said that after he was informed, he alerted the university's athletic director, Tim Curley, and senior vice-president Gary Schultz, who told Mr Spanier."
But no one escalated it and took it to the police.

It's not like it was a whisper or a he said/he said thing. The guy was busted in the act and that was reported.

Re: NFL 2011/12 thread
Have to admit I've got less of a problem with him than with hit and run killer Lee Hughes resuming his career in the English football lower leagues... probably because I'm not a dog lover though what he did was very unpleasant. That Plymouth keeper who destroyed a family with his drunk driving will probably be free to return to the game soon as well.Yorkie Jill wrote:embee wrote:YJ

I guess it's a question of what's bad enough to not deserve a second chance. The truth is though if you're good enough then team owners/managers will not have any moral standards in terms of a player's past. Fans might think differently, of course...

Oh no, that's worse. Well, equally as bad that a convicted killer is allowed back in a job like that. I hadn't heard about Lee Hughes but the Plymouth keeper rings a bell.
Ban all murderers from sport.

Re: NFL 2011/12 thread
If these people are to be released I guess they need to be given something constructive to do, but stacking shelves on the minimum wage would be more appropriate than being able to return to something where you are idolised by thousands or millions. If they were film stars they wouldn't get the parts any more (or at least nothing like as big as before), musicians would have big drops in their sales and probably get dropped by their record label, but in sport if you've got the talent someone will take you, whatever you've done. And that applies to all kinds of misdemeanours, not just criminal ones, team owners (and to some extent fans) will draw the line at nothing if it will improve their chances of success.

Re: NFL 2011/12 thread
Anyway, back to the topic of NFL, it's a really interesting season at around the halfway stage. The Packers look a class apart but as we've seen before even 16-0 guarantees nothing, it's about what you do in January. 49ers pushing them for #1 seed, 8-1 with a load of NFC West dross still to play. Who would have predicted that?
AFC is anyone's guess, the top seed could be an 11-5 team. One thing's for certain, it won't be the Colts and they could well go 0-16, look to have the number one draft pick sewn up already. Will they take Luck and sit him behind Manning for 2 or 3 years, or trade the top pick for a bumper crop of players and draft picks?

GB with homefield advantage during the playoffs. There's one Superbowl spot and the reason the Superbowl isn't played at a homeground usually.

Re: NFL 2011/12 thread
They did it on the road last year, and I'm sure nobody would relish a "Snow Bowl" NFC Championship Game up there. With the Niners' schedule though the Packers might not have the luxury of resting starters.
