From crikey.com today...
Our back-stabbing Aussie cricketers. Don't for a moment think that cricketers can't gossip with the best of them. Writes one spy: "I have it from senior cricketing sources that during Ricky Ponting's captaincy Michael Clarke, while publicly supporting Ricky, was far less supportive behind the scenes. It also seems that Brad Haddin, who was trying to shore up his position against the rising keeper Tim Paine, assisted young Pup behind the scenes."

Always suspected that, will never forget the press conference after the Duminy/Steyn partnership when Clarke was asked why Katich wasn't bowled. "You'll have to ask Ricky that" was the terse reply. The real reason was connected to shoulder soreness.
Copeland might be firming because the pitch has been prepared earlier due to fickle spring rain. By Sunday it will be seven days old according to reports and before the covers went down on Tuesday it was looking a tad dry.
SA hasn't won a home series since defeating the Bangers a couple of years ago. They will under pressure to win but as both captains have acknowledged, and as been reported ad nauseam, their preparation has been less than ideal so Australia has the definite edge.
The toss could be a poser because if the sea mist rolls in over Table Mountain, the seamers will be favoured but the pitch might take a lot of spin if the match goes the distance.

Given Clarkes record with the toss, we are farqued.
