Was MIchael Slater ever dismissed by Phil Tufnell (both Martians)?

Cricinfo can't even get commentary on the weather right...
10.25 am The rain has almost stopped, but the skies are apocalyptically dark. The covers are being moved about to start the draining process, but we need some sunshine. There's a bit of a wind about, so may be the clouds will swirl away ...
10.30 am Scratch that ... The rain comes down again, covers firmly back in place. What a sodden disappointment!

Will be interesting to see if Aus go for the target no matter how many overs they get.

Back to 'planning' for the Snoozers games ... the start under two weeks away now, and occur in very rapid succession, so I don't see too many radical changes, or at least changes unforced by injuries, occurring at this stage. Clearly Johnson must be replaced by A.N.Y Other, hopefully Hilfy; and Watson and Marsh won't play in the first game, which means an opener will need to come in, or they'll promote Khawaja or Hussey into that position (just maybe they'll blood a Davis/Maddinson, or recall Katich?). This week could be a very good time to make a big hundred for those opening in Australian FC cricket.

Can't see it happening Trev ....
Oz all out before tea - losing by some 65 runs or thereabouts, once they all get back out on the park (if they do!) that is.

Actually, it might do Drunky the world of good to know that he has carte blanche to go for the 170 needed off 30 overs. Might free his mind and allow the strokes to flow.

Do I really need to point out the flaw in that last statement?

And based on the latest Dickinfo update, nothing likely before Lunch. Which is prolly good. I can go to bed instead of chewing my fingernails, and hope for the best when I get up in the morning. The look on my wife's face will tell me instantly what happened overnight at Jo'burg.

Just like the look on my ex's face could tell me instantly what she suspected had happened overnight in the Cross.n (And by God was she spot on more often than not)

A nice touch- Apparently Morne Morkel went out to the middle with four cups of tea to give to the cold and wet security guards next to the pitch.

12.00 pm The players are taking early lunch at the Wanderers. The officials will take another look at conditions in 30 minutes from now. There's some blue sky around, but it is mostly overcast. If the rain stays away, the ground should be really dry in an hour. Covers are completely off and the Supersoppers are zipping around with intent. Stay tuned ...

1 p.m. start with seventy overs possible is the latest. Sun is out, skies are blue. That surely favours the Aussies.
