3rd double-century opening stand in Tests at the WACA and second by an Australian pair next to 228 by Slater and Taylor against the Lankies in 1995.

An edge and a drop.
Indians can't bat, bowl or field.

Darn it. Aus just fail to post 3 consecutive partnerships that exceeded the previous record v India. In Sydney Punter and Pup beat the Aus record for 4th wicket v India, then Pup and Paris broke the 5th wicket record, and TSC and Moo were only 4 runs away from taking the all-time 1st wicket record for Aus v India.

Yes, 217 made by Boon & Marsh Sr. at the SCG in 1986

Also failed to surpass the 223 made here by Broad and Athey at the end of that year - the highest by a non-Australian opening pair.

Do you live inside a stats generator AD?
Cowan departs after a lucky innings.

Who of Marsh, Punter, Clarke and Hussey will fail to jag a ton against this direness?
They'll be kicking themselves if they don't cash in. Most important for Marsh after an ordinary run one feels.

Red ... not only a miserable embittered whinger, but woefully inaccurate. I assume you're referring to the one chance given (and taken), which even the Indians weren't sure about, and which would only have been upheld if the Indians had been sensible enough to have the UDRS in place. Otherwise he scored chancelessly and at a reasonable clip.

Once in front of slip which would have been taken had the clueless Indians not been too deep, dropped, off the glove but no DRS. Not convinced about him yet given that he's playing against a poor attack, and he has the advantage of someone at the other end further demoralising them. Rising thirty is not the same as if he was twenty-one.

This Yadav chap seems quite promising. He and Ashwin would seem to be India's main 'gains' this series. Not sure about Vinay Kumar yet.

Just like to remind FBers, especially at this time, of famous Ozzie defeats. Drunky falls as I write this -
- AWG.that's more like it!

I repeat: only one chance given, and it was taken (the glove down leg) ... the other edge did not carry.
Rising thirty isn't a problem ... 35 would be a problem.

That's a damn good comeback by India. It's their session.
Drunky still has that technical deficiency to the ball at his middle and leg. And Watto for Bog at Adelaide, thanks.
