Re: Euro 2012 Thread
I had £2 on Lahm first scorer and draw to return £470. I was at someone's 30th last night and we all got a bit excited at Lahm 1-1. Was gutted when I saw the final score as Greece only had to hold on for 30 mins. The worst thing is I've just seen the goals - - 3 of the 4 German goals were soft as chuffing air. Defending abysmal.

Germany have looked unstoppable in the last three major tournaments in 2006. 2008 and 2010.
They were beaton in the semi or final. Probably will happen again.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
I think they've stepped up a level since the World Cup, the younger players have really come of age and it looks like their best generation for a long time.
It always seemed to be the most ordinary looking German sides that won trophies, though. Efficiency, organisation and a goalscorer.

God, we're good. We're so f*cking good. The gestalt does all the work. The team is the star, not the individual. We might not win it but this generation is going to win something in the next few years. There's midfielders all over the f*cking shop, and the backup is just as good as the first team. Reus is quality. I'm so glad he's coming to Dortmund. Some people thought Jogi was making a big call leaving out the front three for him, Schurrle and Klose, but he never was. Picking a couple of the best players from the Bundesliga last season plus a guy with 60-odd international goals - what a f*cking risk, eh?

That's tomorrow, tonight will be the Frogs against Spain. Should be the first 0-0 of the tournament, one can only pass, and the other can't.

Cheers, t.
I don't have Setanta coverage so it was a guess.
Go the Frogs.

That was true at the start of the QF stage then, if you credit the Czech Republic with a win as half of Czechoslovakia.vilkrang wrote:England are the only team left in the draw that haven't won it before.
France could go into meltdown or really raise their game again after their dismal effort against Sweden. It's Zidane's 40th birthday, a past tormentor of the Spanish (among others), is that an omen for a French victory?

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
The way France are going out now reminds me of how we bowed out against Brazil in 2002. So so comfortable for Spain despite there being only one goal in it.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Eugh Adrian Chiles is so irritating. Suggests that the penalty at the end was the referee making sure that France didn't go through because he didn't think they were good enough.
If he is joking then it isn't funny and if he is serious then he's clueless. Either way, SACK....CHILES.....NOW!!!!!!

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
It pains me to say it, but out of the teams left, once England are out I think I want Germany to win. They are the best team to watch and don't seem to have as many qunts in their ranks than the other teams.Chivalry Augustus wrote:God, we're good. We're so f*cking good. The gestalt does all the work. Spain looked very slick against the pedestrian Frogs. Spain v Portugal looks a potential cracking semi.

They did a professional job but it wasn't the most exhilarating football, to put it kindly. Germany have been wonderful to watch this tournament.skully wrote:Spain looked very slick against the pedestrian Frogs. Spain v Portugal looks a potential cracking semi.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Right, obviously I want us to win but as long as we don't get embarassed I think we can look back on this as a pretty successful tournament.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
England to go out with a whimper - not even attempting to attack until the final ten minutes with the score at 0-1.
Milner and Ashley Young to again be utterly anonymous.

Nor weah (<-- Nice Geordie accent there). We're going to break these Italians into smithereens. Break them.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
We'll probably play our best football of the tournament and lose.
