Well done Ravi. Crikey, Straws is crabbing.
Just as well the classy Belf is there to caress the ball around.

Strauss has got to bat long. I think that he's doing the right thing here...
Re: England v West Indies, 2nd Test, Trent Bridge, 25-29 May, 2012
Especially with Bell out
Good bowling by Roach and Rampaul this morning, full balls swinging in. Good test for Bairstow I reckon, the Windies' tails are up.

Sexy 22 by Bell.
Is this the most Strauss has added post an overnight hundred, think you pointed it out in the last match.
Beaut by Roach.

Bairstow looks well short of Test class. Can't play pace at all and looks dreadful against the short delivery. I guess that's what you get when you pick somebody based on their stellar record in limited-overs cricket. Oh, wait. He's been sh*t there too.
Get Jimmy in there, NOW.

Expecting a WI collapse in the second innings.

Good stuff from WI. Loose stuff from Eng. Possibly still good enough for a 50 lead, but maybe not. Our bowlers will have to be right on it.
Re: England v West Indies, 2nd Test, Trent Bridge, 25-29 May, 2012
Bairstow seemed out of his depth. Is that a surprise considering the dobber mania?

Here's one for all you triv fans:
All things going England's way, it looks like Sammy (1-87) may go for over 100 runs in his bowling innings. If it happens, will it be the first case of scoring a century with the bat and in the next innings conceding 100 runs with the ball?
I don't know myself, it just sounds quite rare.

Strauss' HS in fc matches at The Bridge beating his 120 against Notts here in 2007. This is his first Test century on this ground. He has scored centuries on 5 of England's (including Wales) 9 current Test grounds with Edgbaston, The Riverside, Sophia Gardens and The Rose Bowl being the omissions. He has scored 5 Test centuries at his home ground of Lord's.

Will have a look but I suspect all-rounders like Kapil Dev and Imran would be prime candidates in run-fests on billiard-tops in India.

This saves me the trouble, at least until the beginning of last year. Both Imran and Kapil are on the list as are some other famous names:
Scoring 100 & Conceding 100

Bravo must've come close against South Africa in that match that Boucher took a wicket.Allan D wrote:This saves me the trouble, at least until the beginning of last year. Both Imran and Kapil are on the list as are some other famous names:

Of course it's meandering, nothing happening at all.

100/5 today. Still seems a flattie to me so WI have done very well.

Depends how "rare" you think 48x is but out of 1991 Tests (to January 2011) you're probably right. Haven't checked if there have been any instances since then (before current match).
