If Federer wins Wimbledon over someone other than Djokovic he becomes No. 1.
Fed would have to beat Joker in the semis anyway.

Re: Wimblenod
"What happened Rafa, was he just too good?"
*Incredulous laugh and shake of the head*
"No no, that's too simple".
Not really you f*cktard. He also bitched to the umpire at some point, he didn't explain himself in the interview saying that what he would say would just make him look bad. i.e. he was being a bad loser. His time wasting tactics didn't work either, it pisses me off enough when he takes a minute between his own serve but he was trying to do it with Rosol's serve too. He even asked for a point to be replayed because he "wasn't ready", again deliberately trying to slow his opponent down on their serve. His "gamesmanship" is disgusting, he's easily the worst of the top 4 in that regard and I'm struggling to think of another player on the tour who uses as many games as him.

Re: Wimblenod
There's a mention and a photo in this thread that mentions him barging Rosol out of the way during a changeover at one point. F*cking diva, can't believe he won an award for fair play a few years back, utter c*nt.

Re: Wimblenod
He has a bitch at the umpire about nothing at the begining of the video, again pure gamesmanship, then gives Rosol a little shove at around 1:50 in the video. Don't know what the commentators are saying about Nadal being generous to his opponent, maybe when he is 2 sets and a break up but he always throws his toys out of the pram if things are going against him.
Wanker.

Re: Wimblenod
Shit, Nadal and Federer both being ousted within such a short span would've been mental. Federer will win this now that it's in the fifth set.

Vilks, it should be noted that Rafa didn't storm off the court after being beaten. He had the grace to wait for Rosol to pack his bag and they walked off together.

And Fed only just scraped through against some unknown French player last night. On form, it's looking like a Djokovich-Murray final.

Aye, it's pretty weak trying it on during the game and then 'doing the right thing' after the game when it doesn't matter. You may as well say it should be noted he wore mainly white.

Re: Wimblenod
That was weird, due to health and safety and travel etc. the match with Murray had to finish at 11pm. If Murray hadn't broken to make it 5-1 then I don't think they would have finished, would have been awful for the crowd, it finished at 11:02 so was as close as it could be I think.

Wow, in one of the chicks matches, someone won a set without conceding a point.
First time ever for the chicks.

And the player on the wrong end of the "golden set" was none other than the French Open runner-up. Fair to say it's not exactly a golden era for women's tennis.

Re: Wimblenod
The match between Ferrer and Murray is a great example of how modern tennis is dire as a spectator sport these days. Both players being incredibly negative, just smashing it back and forth from the baseline waiting for the other to make a mistake. Almost every point is the same, unfortunately for Murray, Ferrer seems to make less unforced errors so is ahead. It's the same EVERY farking point, back and forth for 10-20 shots until Murray hits it into the net or hits it long.
At least Federer put on a master class earlier today, although still not as good as in his prime. I think Joke will beat him but if Fed plays like he did today then he has a chance.

Re: Wimblenod
Not as boring as the era of Sampras and co, ace, double fault, ace, return into the net, oh I don't believe it, a 3 shot rally!
It does seem to have gone a bit too far the other way now though, it's all like clay court tennis. A bit of old fashioned serve-volley would be nice, just not at the expense of everything else.

Re: Wimblenod
Part of the reason for this is that they have slowed down the courts which favours the baseliners.

Some of the best players can impart late spin movement as well.

According to Red it happens late BEFORE it passes the batsman. I just assumed tennis players could do something similar......
