Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (VI)
FORMER Health Services Union (HSU) national president Michael Williamson has been charged with 20 offences.
The 59-year-old arrived at Maroubra Police Station, in Sydney's east, shortly before 8am (AEST) on Thursday.
Police announced the charges outside the Maroubra police station at 11am (AEST).
Commander of the Fraud and Cyber Crime Squad and head of Strike Force Carnarvon, Detective Superintendent Colin Dyson told reporters the charges related to alleged attempts by Mr Williamson to thwart a police investigation.
"He approached others and instructed them to delete computer files and computer data from HSU computers," he said.
Det Supt Dyson said some of the charges related to the destruction of HSU computer files and data and destroying American Express credit card statements.
He said another 15 charges were to do with being an officer of an organisation and making a false statement to the organisation's members.
Det Supt Dyson said those allegations arose from an alleged fabrication of documents related to the Temby inquiry.
He said all the events had occurred since the formation of Strike Force Carnarvon to investigate the union.
"These are very serious charges, the maximum penalty is seven years imprisonment," Det Supt Dyson said.

You'll have to forgive my testiness. I'm still filthy over Gloria's rantings and the way they have no doubt given the Vulture and the Pinkos another boost in the polls. And just as surging power bills are coming out (which should give MM all the ammo he needs).
Ugh, 4 more years of this thick and arrogant filth is gonna be hard to take.

Was watching the local news up here in Port last night, and some climate change advocate was on bleating about beach erosion and how it was gonna take down a surf lifesaving tower at Lighthouse Beach. He was rabbiting on about the need to take action on rising seas now. FFS, what a roob. A bunch of recent heavy swells from low pressure systems off the coast caused the erosion.

The Slipper-Ashby case is now descending into high farce. With Ashby settling against the Commonwealth he really has no reason to pursue slipper other than to fark him over - probably by putting into evidence (and therefore making public) real examples of Slipper's homosexuality.
At the same time, Slipper now doesn't have the benefit of piggy backing off the Commonwealth's counsel and so is representing himself.
Could be some fun days ahead actually.

Another Pinko with no clue
AID worker Alexandra ''Pippi'' Bean endured a seven-day nightmare last week at the hands of Libya's shadowy security forces but it was Australia's own Foreign Minister, Bob Carr, who delivered the ''lowest point'' of her ordeal.
Ms Bean was questioned last week by Libyan investigators under threat of arrest, pressured to admit to a fictional rape or sexual affair with a senior government member and then repeatedly asked to sign a statement in Arabic that she was unable to read.
When she refused, then tried to leave the country on a scheduled trip for her employer, the International Organisation for Migration, she was detained by seven men in a downstairs room at Tripoli airport and her passport taken away.
It was not long after this, when she was still under threat of arrest, that Senator Carr commented on the ABC's 7.30 that Ms Bean ''doesn't require further [consular] assistance''.
The comment came when, in fact, her requirement for assistance could not have been greater. In an exclusive interview with The Age this week, she said the comment had made her feel abandoned by her own country."

Bob Carr, another arrogant pinko fraud.

Carr was referring to the fact that at that stage it was best handled by her employer through other agencies (whilst avoiding the fact that consular assistance is generally a joke),

I can see why the Liberal Party hasn't wheeled out Tony Abbot's wife before now to try and convince the Australian public he has no problem with women. She's bigger than he is! And barely has more hair. Did he convert her?
