Why? Does he know what's in the file?

Expecting both a federal and state commission into the unions (Qld within the next year)

Sounds expensive given that there are scores of unions.

From the way he reacted I'd say he may know - but I didn't push the matter.

Seems Kruddy did some nice work in his Foreign Minister role. We've secured a 2 year place on th UN Security Council.

Dunno what that actually means, but well done Krudd. Of course, Bob Carr will claim all the "glory".

The UN Security Council seat was always in the bag. Labor just tried to act like it was on a knife edge, to make it look like more of a triumph when it happened.

Dental scheme

Serious?

All dentists rorted it. The Liberals even admit it is being rorted. It was their scheme.

Labor got rid of it.

The one I don't agree is a bad thing is foreign land ownership. There seems to be some xenophobic undertones there. If no one in Aus is prepared to match what the Chinese are willing to pay, then what's the problem?

And at the end of the day, the Aussie owners don't HAVE to sell to the Chinese. They're choosing to do so.

There was a big gasp when the Finland vote was read out so the UNians did not think it was a shoo-in

To counter-

61.9 (2008)

80.1 (2009)

93.3 (2010)

110.0 (2011)

Any higher inflation would mean and extinct tourism, retail, and manufacturing industry. As it is, it's getting that way.

Ah sorry, I thought you were quoting inflation over the last three years, rather than unemployment, interest rates, and inflation.
