The mere involvement of the firm Slater and Gordon, truly the pits in terms of ambulance chasers, has me considering the possibility that at least some of the claims raised recently might be from greedy gold-digging band-waggoners pursuing fictional claims in the hope of monetary gain. S&G lawyers are already raising the spectre of financial compensation and seeking new suits to pursue on this basis. These suspicions are no doubt unfair on any and all of the genuine claimants, but S&G have been forever tainted in my eyes by their past exploits, including massive document-shredding to defend their own clients, and multiple speculative claims. They are bottom feeding scum, profiting entirely from the misery of others.

Naa, every stone/tin/cardboard Rolf that gets thrown into cold storage before it gets vandalised by the local keepers of the public morals, saves some underfunded local council whatever cleaning up the mess afterwards costs...if anybody ever decides they want to put the stuff back up they can.

Rolf like Barry H and an assorted few was a member for that peculiar class of professional Australians - I guess Hogan and the croc fella are other examples...Generally they had ltd success here but were mega overseas where they sold this -- to us --- strange vision of Australia. Rolf was booed off stage at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne where his Australiana schtick made people ill

Aye re him cashing in on 'being Australian'(as in that being a huge part of his 'schtick') in the UK. He and Hogan have probably done more to harm or at least limit how we are perceived overseas than any other exports ... even before Rolf's kiddie-fiddling exploits came to light and legal scrutiny. Irwin was apparently very famous in the USA; I'd barely heard of him a year before his demise.

Greer has lived longer in the UK than she ever did in Australia & all i know about White is that he is the most boring novelist i have ever read.

The buttock-clenching Peter Ondray. Patricia Hewitt. Kathy Lette. The equally execrable Amanda Platell. Rupert Murdoch. Clive James. Nick Cave. Skippy. Tons of 'em. Making profits without honour in their own country.
