What utter rubbish, lardy. You'll do anything to defend Hogg. Just because you've lost a few wickets to spinners over the years it doesn't mean you've been "tormented". Australia are excellent players of spin.
Panesar averages 38 vs Aus
Tuffers averages 38 vs Aus.
Murali averages 36 vs Aus.
Bhajji averages a very good 26 (46 in this series) and Kumble a respectable 27.
Hardly torment is it? Australia have been the second best players of spin around for a long time now.

Smoke and mirrors, lardy, smoke and mirrors. You said "the notoriously spin-shy Australians". Australia haven't been notoriously spin shy for years and years.

I'm mainly addressing the comment to people with memories longer than the average goldfish.

Good for you, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a highly specious and misleading comment to make.

I must say I didn't see him bowl this test match, but is this a case of stats lying. I mean his figures look ordinary.

Too many 4 balls and not enough wicket taking balls.
Should have had Gangles in the second dig though.

Re: Hogg v MacDill
sadly despite his batting and effortsa in the field it is clear the Piggsy is not up to playing at test level as a bowler...the only rationale for his future selection is that he is not magoo
