Re: Open Championship
Another dropped shot to Scott. Every time he has missed the green, he has dropped a shot. Poor scrambling.

Re: Open Championship
Phil with an eagle putt, should be a birdie. Been a bit reminicsent to his 2010 Masters inward nine run.

Re: Open Championship
All but sealed really. A good bounce on the final green, putts that and Mickelson's won it.

Re: Open Championship
Scott misses another one. His putting has cost him today (as usual).
It's Mickelson's day. That approach shot to the 18th was risky and could have plugged in the bunker, but it landed safely, got the bounce and now Phil's almost certainly got this thing wrapped up.

It could be worse marginally. Woods could have won.

Re: Open Championship
The result of this championship is now in even less doubt than that of the Test Match at Lord's (which is saying something considering England only need two more wickets).
Mickelson has grasped this tournament by the throat and is by far the most deserving. Scott threatened to put his mark on it but has decided to repeat his run home from last year, while Westwood just hasn't turned up today.

Re: Open Championship
It's quite amazing actually. This Open looked on track to have an amazingly dramatic finish. We'd still be on track for that if Mickelson hadn't blitzed the closing holes.
Phil's given us some amazing golf to watch, but he's also robbed us of some fine drama.

Re: Open Championship
Yeah, was good till his 17th. Then it was just a matter of time.
Despite Westwood's crumbling finish, it's really nice to have Stenson back at the sharp end. Two weeks in a row that he's contended, with him chucking away a comfortable winning position last week at Castle Stuart. Decent season so far.

Three over-40 winners in a row. Not one for the youngsters any more it seems!

And it's only a few years ago that Tom Watson and Greg Norman went close to winning the Open in their 50s.
It's the best major by a mile.

Re: Open Championship
Peerless back nine by Floppy Phil. Well done him.
Scott was +2 when I went to have a shower and go to bed after Pup got out. But I sat back down just to get an update and Scotty had reeled off 3 straight birdies to take the lead. He then proceeded to play like a 18 marker - so it's probably my fault.
