Re: Open Championship
Well, Mr Westwood will never have a better chance than this. You can see -1 or even even par being a winning score at this rate. I fully expect Lee to capitulate leaving some Yank or other to win it.

Re: Open Championship
Well done to Lee Westwood on grabbing the lead.
It never ceases to amaze me how difficult British Links courses are. They look benign on the screen but rarely play that way. I guess it's why we all love the Open.

Eldrick is home.
The 11s I got at at the start of the tournament are looking good.
Would LOVE for Scotty to right last year's wrongs though.

Re: Open Championship
A US Open golf champion, victorious Lions Rugby team, Wimbledon champion, dominating in the Ashes, a likely tour de France winner, and leading the Open going into the final round.
What IS going on?? Giddy times indeed for British/English sport.
Westwood wont win it though.

Aye, he's hung on grimly. Would be ace if he shot a last round 67 to pinch it.JGK wrote:Would LOVE for Scotty to right last year's wrongs though.

At the risk of killing all his hopes, I've not seen Westwood putt so well in a long time.

Funny seeing Steve Williams and Tiger stand a couple of feet from each and barely acknowledge each other.
Terrible first shot from Scott btw.

Now a third straight bird. All square and 2 behind. And he's in birdie range on the next green.WideWally wrote:Poulter making a charge. An eagle & two birdies gets him to One Over after Eleven.

Tiger and Scott both +2 for the round after 4. They are all going backwards except Poulter. He just missed a 4th straight bird.

Brain fade by Poulter to find a fairway bunker after a long drive. No need to go for the extra distance.

Bogey to Westwood but it could have been worse after needing two shots to get out of a bunker.

Re: Open Championship
Amazing putt from Scott.
But how good has Westwood's putting been? I've been particularly impressed with his efforts on challenging putts for par.
He just had another one on the seventh (although in this case it was for bogey) and nailed it. If he keeps putting like that he'll win.
