To be fair to Phil, not really the case nowadays. Mellowed since his FIGJAM days, seems even more so with his family's cancer issues.horace wrote:nah genuine...like the way he plays...Phil is a prize nob
Lee put it well when asked about Poulter's crazy golf remark.lardbucket wrote:Was Phil still whinging about the greens after the match?

Some pretty good scoring early.
Could Tiger's -19 be under threat?

The early leader is a guy called David Lingmerth.
He's -7 after 9!

Re: Open Championship
Fark I love St Andrews. Nothing like the Open played there.
I just heard that Dustin Johnson's caddy is his brother Austin.
I assume their sisters Bustin and Custin are back home watching on TV.

And even better news - I just realised that the lobster I thought I put on Stephen Lowry I actually put on Paul Lawrie. At 90s. He's currently -7.

The Road Hole averaged 4.8 yesterday with no one bettering a par.
The Par 5 5th only averaged 4.5.

The wind preventing any play since early this morning. Surely dropping a round beats a Monday finish?

Re: Open Championship
No way. It is a major and that would cheapen it no end. As it is St Andrews is easy enough as a course. Would be akin to making the ashes a 3 test series for the English and Aussies.
Agree with Westwood regarding the JB Holmes ruling. Others shan't pay for his error.

Worse still to have it finish in front of one man and his dog on a working day. Hopefully they can get two rounds in tomorrow.

Re: Open Championship
Lack of spectators may lessen the spectacle. 3 rounds would lessen the tournament itself, which really is primary.

Re: Open Championship
They don't add an extra day to a Test when it rains, do they?
I guess it might make sense if they have a later start on Monday to get a prime time finish, although that would risk a Tuesday play-off... still don't see why they can't get two rounds in tomorrow, there's more than enough daylight.

Re: Open Championship
They could, will still cut it fine. Will have to start 1 and 10....
But cutting a round would be closer to an innings than a day.
