Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XI)
The paid-parental leave plan is a shocker.
It's the type of policy Abbott naturally embraces, but I'm sure all the "Tony has a problem with women" crap being flung around has firmed up his commitment to the scheme.
Hopefully it gets tweaked in the Senate into something more sane.

Might not get thru the Senate, H. It'd be like the Greens to say they support it then dump it.

Christ, I wish The Democrats were still around and had the balance of power.
They weren't perfect, but they generally had a positive record of making government legislation less crap.

Really is an odd one by Abbott. They was no real huge call in the media for it. He could've easily said "I listened to my colleagues and changed my mind" but he's decided to stubbornly persist with it. Weird.

So even coffin dodging has become more efficient! It's another unexpected side-effect of global warming. I blame skully.

Krudd struggling in own seat
"Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says he will keep fighting through the election campaign despite polls showing Labor could lose five seats in its western Sydney heartland - and he could struggle to keep his own.
...
On Thursday, a Guardian Lonergan poll also suggested that Mr Rudd was lagging in his own Queensland seat of Griffith, trailing LNP candidate Bill Glasson, 48 per cent to 52 per cent, two-party preferred."

Laugh?? I'd PMS.

I'd really PMSL if Rudd lost his seat and the ALP still won ... who'd lead?

And they reckon Abbott's got no charisma. Shorten will need a massive personality injection if he becomes Pinko leader. What boring little tit he is.

At least Shorten would finally know what the PM had said before he agreed with it

It amused me the way the foul-tempered ruggy lectured journos about snap-shots of Abbott's temper when he asked if Rudd ever shut up.

Tomorrow's Nielsen is 53-47.
That cockroach deserves nothing less than losing his seat and taking the ALP to its greatest ever loss.
Bring back the Vulture.
