Re: Aus squad for SAf
Aye Nath. From this article...
"Clarke said after the match that Marsh had injured a calf muscle. More will be known of the injury after scans today, but Phil Hughes will most likely replace him if the West Australian does not improve quickly, as the first tour game starts next week."
-------------------------------------------
Hughes FFS. I guess this means Doolan will be 3 for Aus.
What's Bird done? His injury is less of a worry.

Bird's sore back means that Pattinson will now get some red ball practice in the Second XI match this week.

Well SA has its issues too - Smith is nursing a chronic ankle, AB's hand is recovering slowly, Steyn has a rib injury and Philander suffered back spasms the other day.
Fork is probably unlikely to play in the tests anyway unless there is a change of plan for team makeup. Meanwhile Hussey has tipped Lyon to be very successful against the Proteas, hard to see them going with all pace.

Notice that SA is naming its squad to place us on Wed. Doubt de Kock will be selected but he seems to have made runs and at a quick rate in every one of their T20 domestic fixtures as part of an under-performing team. Perhaps worth punting on an in-form player.

Why would Lyon be very successful?

Why would Lyon be very successful?
Ask Hussey. He said that Lyon is getting lots of dip and underspin and he's deceptive to bat against.

So you don't agree with him. Fair enough.

He's much better qualified than me to judge.

So you have all the confidence of Hussey's predictions. Do you ever think for yourself?

Oh no. That's Aus' Test chances totally done now. He's a crucial cog in the wheel
Re: Aus squad for SAf
We need reserves.
I think our chances were very slim before any of these injuries, but they're even slimmer now. I'm hoping for something better than a 0-3 loss.

That is the Prudent Position. Meaning, disappointment is almost excluded (publicly at least).
Aussie must be a chaince, with their butcher Kallis out of the picture.

Harris is the one Aus need to wrap in cotton wool (give him some training though).

No Foowing on my part ... will be happy if 'we' return undisgraced.
2-1 to the Saffies would probably be a good outcome.
