What about an AFL style draft between teams or the captains line up to rotate picks?

How much weaker can Australia make their team in order to get a game going without it looking like they're taking the piss?
I mean, England limped to 240 on a nice batting track against a bowling attack of Faulkner, Coulter-Nile, Doherty, Maxwell and Pattinson. If that's their WC bowling line-up, they won't get out of the group. Unless they play England in every game.

Bailey will be fit apparently* so looks like Smitty can stay behind and play for the Sixers unless they want to give Twatto another game off.
Might as well give Patto another bowl and they might rest Midge again for Fork, PAtto and NCM can get some more overs under their belts.

I think we need to have MJ as a drawcard, if Clarke and Warner aren't playing.

Re: Australia v England, 4th ODI, Perth, 24 January, 2014
In shock news, Graham Thorpe has allegedly had to intervene in a brawl between England "captain" Alastair Cook and "coach" Ashley Giles. He found them brawling on the floor of the dressing room after the latest humbling by Australia.
Luckily, Giles's vicious targeting of his attack wide outside Cook's leg caused no damage, whereas the latter succeeded only in nicking and clipping Giles' ears behind.
Both of the 'fistfighters' are now awaiting long suspensions, although a rumour just in suggests Giles Clarke is arranging seven-figure sponsorship for each of his men.
Suspensions are also pending for the 'members' of the England 'team' who unexpectedly displayed signs of life and spirit on seeing their coach and skipper scrapping on the floor, and began shouting obscenities such as 'yeah - beat the living shit out of the f*ker!!!!'
David Warner is offering lessons.

Amazing how the English can make Doherty look like Murali minus the chucking.

They made him look better than Murali. Sir Chucksalot went at 3.85 rpo against England in ODIs.
Shave Yer Dirty locked England into just 2.80 rpo. And he didn't even have to turn a single delivery.

Can we now call Doherty "Brazil"?

Quite bizarre really because even Warnie admitted that by the end he could take a lot of wickets on bluff when his powers had waned but surely Doherty can't command wickets by threat alone when nobody has seen him spin a ball.

Talking about the git . . .
"If someone wants to be part of your life, they will seriously make an effort to be in it - no reasons, no excuses."
Attributed to one S.Warne Esq., hinting that his relationship with Hurley is over!!
I mean  . . . . W.T.F. ?

Dickinfo postulates that Clarke, Haddin and Warner will all forego the trip west.

Re: Australia v England, 4th ODI, Perth, 24 January, 2014
wonder how many newbies the poms will play in Perthburg?
surely chef will get a break....Princess Filth after his appalling bowling, cowardly batting and non efforts in the field must surely be the next to sent home in disgrace...would be amazed if the carthorse gets another amble around the field...where is J Knickers - surely he must be up to replace the disgarced and unselectable nonenttler...I thought Treddler looked the best of the pom bowlers and he shd be persisted with as a bright young prospect

It wasn't so much a reply as an aside.

No, but on here I don't differentiate between asides and replies. They're as similar as asides and rejoinders.
Re: Australia v England, 4th ODI, Perth, 24 January, 2014
Don't forget retorts.
Especially if you are a chemist. Or lawyer. Or cake eater.
But a reply essentially responds to the comment.
An aside is a side-of-the-mouth statement of its own, addressing the general drift. A bit less re-, a bit more of a sidelong broadside.

Hmm. You responded to his comment.
I reckon this is another pointless semantically pernickety debate. I was basically saying DFTT. I'm saying the same thing to myself now, about you.
