Re: Rugby League 2014
He did OK for a rookie, but battled for acceptance (the good ol' southern boys didn't like a skippy upstart invading their patch), and certainly wasn't the success he thought he'd be.

I doubt it. Or I at least hope that's the case.
I'm quite looking forward to him and Whincup (Murph would be better!!) locking horns.

He mightn't be, but I am.
I love watching Jarryd Hayne in full flight - it's one of the best sights in Rugby League. Now he's gone and reneged on his contract leaving us in the lurch.

Re: Rugby League 2014
Some interesting comments from US fans in the linked article.
This one tends to mirror my thoughts best...
“Hayne is 26 going on 27. Let’s say he is not only athletically gifted, but also, one of the smartest guys out there and that he can learn everything he needs to know about the game in one year. Training camps start in late spring, so we’re far less than a year away from training camp. Lets say he gets good enough in less than a year to be on a practice squad for 2015, and that he shines in 2015 and makes him ready to be a starter in 2016. That makes 28 going on 29 as a rookie where there are only 8 running backs in the league over 29. I think he’s too late.”
-----------------------------------------------
I wish the Hayne Playne Brayne Drayne well and would love to see him get a special teams jersey at a major franchise, but I really think he'll fark around in the States for a couple of years, achieve not much and come back to Aus due to homesickness.

Brian 'Chicka' Morre has died. I remember him as a very fine centre for Newtown back in the 60s & early 70s.

Coached Norths for a while too I seem to recall.
Meanwhile, fresh from giving away the best winger in the world to Canterbury, the Dragons continue to cover themselves in glory by signing George Rose FFS.

Aus got out of gaol against a willing Poms unit. But Snoozies will smash us in the Final.
