188/8 in 45 overs. Afghanistan has all but won.
Only for Australia to nick this in the last ball now.

Re: Under 19 World Cup 2014
Aus also lost to Zimbabwe in one of the warm-ups.
Under 19s cricket means sweet f*ck all in the scheme of things, though. If it was a true indicator of how international teams will perform in 4-5 years time, then a dashing young English captain by the name of Owais Shah would have led the prodigious talents of Stephen Peters, Richie Logan, and Robert Key to Ashes glory down under in 2002-03.
Key DID make the squad for that series, and was clean-bowled by Damien Martyn at Adelaide......

Teams might not, but individuals are a very decent pointer.
Sarfaraz Khan looks good given his age. The Pakistani leggie wasn't too shabby either.

Eng u19s 136/5 after 41 overs, scoring at 3.2 an over.
That's the spirit, lads. Grind them into the dirt.

Re: Under 19 World Cup 2014
England only get their arses into gear in the final nine overs (the old Gilo tactic for success) and cobble together 229/8.
Re: Under 19 World Cup 2014
Decent enough start for the bowlers. Could well have the opposition 160-7 again

Re: Under 19 World Cup 2014
Couple of wickets for the young leggie Rob Jones.
Always nice to see kids are still having a go at bowling leg spin, even though they'll probably be absolute rubbish in the longer term and only get a game for their county if they can bat.

Re: Under 19 World Cup 2014
I see Dello is placing a lot of faith in these boys for the future.
Would be embarrassing to see us out early.
Zim downed by their southern neighbours with the SA captain making a ton and unbeaten half ton following a ton. They have a bowler called Dill.
Windies walloped Canada.

Still, close group. Afg, Aust and Bang all won two matches, with the last being eliminated on runrate.
Afghanistan will go on to play South Africa in the Quarterfinals

Re: Under 19 World Cup 2014
India U19s 111/5 (32.5)
Matt Fisher taking names again with three top order wickets.
The most promising 16 year-old Yorkshire seamer since Tim Bresnan. Oh. That worked out well.
