Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Lewis Gregory in the wickets again. 16 @ 24 so far this season.
Weird. He barely got a bowl for Somerset last season, but now he's suddenly opening the attack, relegating golden boy Jamie Overton to first change.
Still only 21 - seems to have been around a bit longer than that.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Maybe pretty indicative that he got murdered in the first match, in fair weather on a fair pitch. Since it has gotten a bit more soggy, he's on it.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Jandy gets 10 to knock over Girlhampton. Not sure what it all means. Probably that he's still good against girls. In the early season. Let's see how tenny he is against the SLIndian batting line-ups

Right then, let's see who's top of Division 2 - why, it's Worcestershire : hallelujah and praise whatever deity you take a fancy to.

The pitch at New Road was described as dry and dusty. Not a bad performance by the groundsman when you consider that the square was under several feet of water for the best part of four weeks at the turn of the year.

Must have been a lucky knock by the 'very average journeyman opener'. Any comments from Geoff Boycott?

Uhh, why would there be? He's a gobshite. He's been wrong on so many occasions, why start retracting opinions now?

And speaking of Yorkshire,, is there a chance for someone like Brooks making the test team this year? Despite the second innings thrashing, that is.

He's also batting well at the moment. If the selectors had a bit more imagination, they might have given a young guy who's in form like him a go against Scotland.

nah have decided to alternate...this time it is the unlucky Pears who have to bear the intolerable weight of my support

It has already happened. Trev and Dello were falling over themselves to big him up after seeing him bowl a couple of overs at 88-90mph.
Trev went so far a few weeks ago to suggest they put him in the T20 team. When he didn't play any T20 cricket last year and is generally fodder.
They're both pretty desperate.

HA! I didn't even see this. See what I mean? He bowled 19 overs in limited overs cricket last year. 19 overs. Yet if they had 'imagination' they'd pick him. Shit, if they had imagination, they'd pick Snuffaluffagus or Wellyphant.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Hales on loan to Worcs... shame Notts can't seem to find a role for him at the moment. Perhaps his attitude isn't quite right but he's as good a striker of the ball as we have in this country. I hoped he would develop into a Trescothick type player but looks like he will remain as an unfulfilled talent in the longer game having been pigeonholed as a T20 specialist some time ago, he really should be playing ODI cricket though.

They're hanging up the bunting in Worcester even as I type this!
Potentially good new for us - but I am not getting over-enthusiastic because of Hales' "form" in the 4 day game last season.

You are correct. The hyperbolic Trevving of Lewis Gregory has set new standards in Trevving and possibly in seminal exsanguination.

Middlesex collapsing like a sack of shit in their first innings v the Bears. A smidgeon of respectability added by the last two wickets.
Steven Finn may yet top score from #11.

Must just be setting up for a match winning triple century from Rogers in the second innings.lardbucket wrote:Middlesex collapsing like a sack of shit in their first innings v the Bears. A smidgeon of respectability added by the last two wickets.
