I'm praying we get skittled, in the same way I hope that the cat finishes off the shivering little mouse rather than playing with it for ages.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Ah, Coetzer out. 100/6. Nice. Good idea to bring him in. Lasted 7 balls in his two innings. Stout.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Mice have an excuse. They were born that small and vulnerable.

So Ben Dover comes to the crease. He's all ready for action.

Now Long John Silver bites the dust too.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I thought Northants were getting Jackson Bird in after Copeland was ineligible. What happened to that? Not that that would helped with the batting but they may at least have been able to get Luke Wright out.
Essex's batsmen trying to undo the good work of their bowlers yesterday. Jesse Ryder just been bowled by a man with a first class average of over 100.

Bird would've made a world of difference. He got injured and CA pulled him out of the deal.
TBF to Jesse Ryder, he was most likely shitfaced and had probably broken his hand fighting a nasty locker.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Ah, right. Hadn't heard that Bird was injured. What is it with these young Aussie pace bowlers?

They break their backs on flatties, rather that dobbing it down Chris Woakes style and reaping humungous rewards(though this isn't the case with Bird). Hard pitches seem in general to be worse on the body than our soft run-up areas.

So proud.. we made 200. OK we lost, but WHAT fight we showed. My eyes are misty with whimsy.

Yeah, at least they can now have a day and a half rest. They've earned it, poor mites.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I hear Northants have just signed Fred as their main strike bowler.
And David Luiz has been recruited for spiritual advice.

Barracking for the Pants must be akin to supporting West Ham, England in the WC or Euro, Western Australia in state cricket, Oz rugby teams, the Saffies in any comp where they reach the semis, the Bannies when they play overseas or social justice

Carn you Sexies.
243 ahead - final day - so will Roy declare early enough (and not bat on boringly like Cook likes to) to ensure a possible result.
Stay tuned.....

60 runs off 8 overs . . . Sexies rushing to the declaration!
303 ahead
Mind you, I'm not surprised in the slightest - given that the Uxbridge ground is no bigger
than a postage stamp!

Have to admit - Roy is a verrrrrry cautious skipper (I detect Fraser's influence??) ... espesh for an Aussie.
.... twice now - in two consecutive games - he's held back on an early declaration.
