Bloods completely outclassing Norf at the moment. Up by 6 goals at HT. Hope it continues.

Swans looking good so far. Carn, finish strong for some momentum going into the Granny.

Very one-sided.
Ryder set to confirm that he will part company with the Dons.
Poor crowd for a prelim.

Crowd was 50k. North are hardly a massive drawcard these days.

Aye, they looked too big at the front, too fast in the middle, too stretchy in the ruck, and too skilled at the back for the Roos. One of the more complete performances by the Bloods.

Decent crowd for Sydney. It's a Leeeg town.
Having said that the capacity at the SCG is 48,000 so it would've been house full and rockin'.

not sure if the crowd was silent due to the one-sided contest, poor sound quality/no HD coverage, OR both? The sound quality on the NRL broadcast was a lot louder

Re: AFL 2014
It was definitely pretty quiet at the game. Probably because the Swans were never a risk of losing and North played like they didn't really think they would win.

It was posted at just over 48. That is poor for a prelim. final. I went to the prelim in 2002 at the 'G when we played Adelaide so there was only one Melbourne team playing and the crowd was over 89,000 and the atmosphere electric. That is what we used to be more accustomed to with finals - atmosphere and huge numbers
The Swans were dominant but the Kangas insipid and simply lacking class and strength. Two close games might have taken something out of them too. Let's hope this afternoon we get a more competitive affair.

Re: AFL 2014
congrats to the roos on a good effort this sseason..really like the Scott twins..both decent coaches and human beings..
It is a complete disaster playing at that cow paddock stadium...you could see players from both teams slipping in the shifting surface..two thankfully only minor knee injuries to the Bloods...
hope the dorks v power game is a cracker with no injuries/reports to either...good to have a granny with both teams having close to full lists...
on a different topic I think Essndon are gonski and will end up in liquidation as clubs refuse to bail them out of the massive legal costs from player suits against them..You have to feel for the fans and the players but this club is beyond rescue...no sympathy at all for Jab-up Jimmy...should never be allowed near a sporting club again
on the upside for Lardy and Big Dog, if the Druggies hand in or are forced to hand in their license, this is a great opportunity for a stand alone Tasmanian AFL club..a State that has produced innumerable champs deserves its own team and there are too many in Melbourne

Great game by Sydney. North saved the Cats the trouble of an unsuccessful Sydney trip, even if the Cats might have got closer to the Swans.

True dat, but was more making the point that a far greater percentage of punters in Sydney than in Melbourne (about 0.05%) follow Leeeg, therefore diluting efforts to draw any more than the very creditable 50,000. It's the same in Brisvegas.

Re: AFL 2014
Go Port....not that i like anything from SA but if they can prevent Hawthorn from making the GF it will save the Tassie taxpayers $300K
Re: AFL 2014
Port have had their chance, a good one, and blown it.
You can't kick 3-10 and win a final*, especially against the Hawks.
