meanwhile a friend just told me that Abetz grand uncle was German ambassador in Vichy France and did 4 years in clink after the war. the man's obvious loathing of working stiffs and vitriol directed to anything left of ghengis khan may now be explicable. he sco mo, bernardi, Andrews just seem so strange to me....none exhibit empathy

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XII)
I think I recently saw one of Abetz' relatives on a Compass(?) program as an apologist for some of the collabotators. Mind you Stalin's grandson was on the same program doing the same so any indiscretions, real or imagined, by the Abetz ancestor would have been tame.
Just saw the MM on Hadley. Hadley a bit pissed off no shit was thrown. A memoir coming to this space soon?

finally some sense coming from the Feds...deregulation of uni fees is off the agenda and Dutton zapped the visa of a visiting US Right to Lifer who among other things has called for the execution of doctors performing abortions. Further the PM expressed alarm about the report of two rapes on Nauru.
These positions would not have been adopted a month ago.
Abetz and the MM are unhappily playing games around the Lib membership....all about future pre-selections

Every day Abbott talks to a friendly media outlet, every day voters say TF he's gone.

spot on Mr K
funny that he seems unable to shut his gob, despite saying he would not snipe
expect pre-selections to be increasingly bitter as the lunar right commence stacking.
Most state admin committees are controlled by the right.
Will be interesting to see how the 7/11 fiasco plays out...many in the right are hot to trot for deregulation in the labour market that would see flow of reduced pay and conditions for an underclass of frightened workers

That's the plan. Let the fascists do the hard yards and take the glory with a new leader in three years time. Though I'm leaning towards Captain Mal going DD while the honeymoon is on.

Might be the only chance for a while to reset the Senate (albeit a tiny one).

Aye. Worth a punt, I reckon. Might rid the joint of loonies like Lambie and Hanson-Young.

Might even be able to rig the kong term/short term selection process into the bargain, or use it as a bargaining chip (insert bush constitutional lawyering alert here).

Not sure. Trigger is a bit misleading as you also need a real good reason other than "I think I can smash them in the polls".
But as we've got a knuckle-dragger rather than a constitutional expert as GG, who knows.

word here in Vic is that preselections in the Libs will be most bitter...Kroger and his lunar right mates control the admin now (tho there is a terrible fight going on about the alleged fraud committed by an official).
punishment is in the offing for those who voted for Turncoat

Tells you how stoopid the Vixen Tories are - Turnbull is the only one to make the Libs electable in Vic.

Looks like Hockey has made a pre-emptive strike in North Sydney, effectively nominating one of his more moderate proteges.
The peninsular seats (Abbott and BB) might be a different story though.
