There is still stuff to come out from the RC.

And David Marr is doing a quarterly essay on Shorten which is out next week - should be interesting.

I really don't see Albo ever leading the ALP to an election win.  Nice guy to be sure and from what I recall an effective Minister when the ALP was in power but he's surely too left for the majority.   Bowen is their more electable alternative (which would be a little depressing for me as he is younger than I am).

Welcome to the beginning of the end.

But seriously I think the RC would have to recommend criminal charges before Shorten would even think about talking it over with a few close mates in a very general sense and in no way too seriously at the pub on a Friday arvo before a long weekend.

Something less than criminal charges could still be critical if the LNP are otherwise leading in the polls.

Albanese is electable (IMO) whilst Bowen isn't; Bowen's not nearly as bad as Christopher Pyne, but he's an annoying whiny turd.

Then again, Turnbull wasn't/isn't electable. He never passed the rich conceited entitled qunt test.

Their best hope always was/is to get someone else to win the election, then knife them. Or stand against someone even more hopeless, I guess.

Hockey spits the dummy and will leave Parliament.

Andrews spits the dummy and takes a shot at everyone but says he'll stay in Parliament.  That can only go well for the Tories.

5 women in cabinet including a Defense Minister for the first time.  And Assistant Treasurer is elevated to cabinet - unfortunately that lightweight Kelly O'Dwyer is the minister.

Do you mean Defence Minister?

I'm not just being 'smart'; I don't like the apparently compulsory American take on the language.

Practice/practise and licence/license used to be noun/verb forms, and that seems to have been corrupted with a general trend towards the 's' form, regardless; and I've also noticed 'defense' taking over from 'defence', and wonder why.

Billson was a bit stiff. He was doing a good job as Small Bus Minister. Obviously hates Turncoat - or vice versa, or both.

Was Margie Abbott personally loading up the car as one final fark you to the electorate (understandable), or don't our ex-pms rate a mover. I'm all for egalitarianism, but it can be taken too far. If this was one entitlement denied to them it's a disgrace.

Look, this is all well and good, but have any of your leaders f*cked the head of a dead pig? Because ours did.

Well that promise not to destabilise didn't last long...

Leadership spill: Tony Abbott says Scott Morrison 'never warned anyone' of challenge

Published: September 22, 2015 - 9:07AM

Australia's former prime minister Tony Abbott has accused the new Treasurer Scott Morrison of "badly" misleading the public with his claim that he had warned the prime minister's office that his leadership was under threat, in his first brief public comments since the leadership change.

Mr Abbott also refused to confirm whether he would recontest his seat at the next election and praised the contribution of former treasurer Joe Hockey.

Mr Abbott was ousted from the top job last Monday following a leadership challenge by Malcolm Turnbull. Mr Morrison, a former Social Services Minister, has since claimed he had warned Mr Abbott's office on the Friday before the challenge that his leadership was under threat, telling his office "things were pretty febrile and they should be on high alert".

Mr Morrison also claimed, during a heated interview with 2GB broadcaster Ray Hadley, that Mr Abbott had also tried to "throw [former Treasurer] Joe Hockey under a bus" by offering Mr Morrison the treasurer job in a last ditch attempt to secure his own leadership.

But in a brief recorded interview with Sydney's The Daily Telegraph on North Steyne beach on Monday, Mr Abbott rejected aspects of Mr Morrison's story.

"Not true not true … Scott never warned anyone, certainly he never warned me," said Mr Abbott.

"I spoke to him on Friday, not a hint of a warning, so I'm afraid Scott badly misled people. He badly misled people.

"Look, I was doing what I could to save the government. That's what I was doing."

During the four-minute exchange, which took place while Mr Abbott was out for a morning surf, the former prime minister praised the contribution of his former treasurer.

"Joe [Hockey] will be judged much more kindly in the months and years ahead than he was when he was actually doing the job," he said.

Mr Hockey has announced he will be leaving parliament in the wake of the leadership change.

During the interview, Mr Abbott conceded it had been a "tough week" and declined to say whether he would be contesting his seat of Warringah again at the next election.

"I think the important thing at the moment is just to unwind and have a think, and there'll be more to say about that in the not too distant future."

The former prime minister had just been for a surf at North Steyne beach, a hobby he seemed keen to pursue.

"The only question I've asked myself is how do I catch more waves."

Mr Abbott's comments came amid claims that his former ally and speaker Bronwyn Bishop voted against him in the leadership spill, after she was pressured to resign following the "Choppergate" expenses scandal.

Short-pants is yet another right wing spook trained operative (like Beazley and various other hollow men from the ALP).

Must say I have enjoyed the early attempts to destabilize the Duke of Turnbull....zero impact...aside from the News Extremely Ltd press the barbs from form the MM, Andrews, InCredlin are having limited impact.

if she was a bloke the tory Ministers would have bent over for the ritual spankings they have always hankered for...these are seriously weird people remember...sco mo speaks in tongues ffs and Pyne and Dutton both look desperate for some punishment...while Abets and Corben are lining up do the spanking and worse if given the chance...feel sorry for Turnbull.
