Just noting his continued good progress. He seems to be confounding several early critics.
Have noted his improvements elsewhere.
Hope he does the Bizz today and does not revert to old fifth day failures.

Re: Nathan Lyon ...not long until he breaks an Oz record
"He's no Graeme Swann"
wkts / runs [BBI,BBM] RPW, RPO, SR, 5-for, 10-for
Nathan Lyon after 95 Tests:
380 / 12202 [BB 8/50, 13/154] 32.11, 3.01, 63.9 [16, 2]
He should play his 100th Test v India at the start of the next Australian home season. That's a milestone.
... by way of comparison, Graeme Swann after 60 Tests:
255/7642 [BB 6/65, 10/132] 29.96, 2.98, 60.1 [17, 3]
Over his career, Swann was slightly more economical in terms of RPW and RPO, and had a better strike rate, but there's not a lot in it. Barring injury, though, Lyon probably has 3-4 years to go, so it will be interesting to see how the comparison ends up.

Swann had a bigger chin and sense of his own importance. His last tour ended as slapstick. He bowled tosh and retired mid series as he did not want to run drinks out to Monty.
Oz is a graveyard for offices and Lyon has done very well to win so much success. He has improved over the journey adding variety beyond his classic top spin.
He also just seems to be a good bloke who would unify a team. When he pulls the pin it will be with honour and general acclaim.
Swann by contrast was part of the gang of Broad and Prior who made life for their own team mates. His career end was ignominious.
