Anyone being 1.40 at Bathurst is madness. So much can go wrong.

Re: Bathurst 1000 2015
My offsider at work has taken a week off to spend at Bathurst & as usual the tightarse pricks i work for hav'nt given me a replacement so i'm expected to do the work of two people while keeping up the same work volumes & turnaround times. Not happy.

Fabian Coulthard set a new fastest lap record during 3rd practice today with a stunning 2:05:48!!
Fark me, might be a quick one if the weather gods smile on Mt Panorama.

Bathurst champion Chaz Mostert in horror crash
AAP OCTOBER 9, 2015 4:53PM
Defending champion Chaz Mostert has crashed spectacularly in Bathurst 1000 qualifying today. The V8 Supercars star pinballed off the walls as he reached the Forrest’s Elbow section of Mount Panorama just minutes into the first qualifying session for Sunday’s Great Race, narrowly missing track-side officials.
His Ford team Prodrive Racing said that Mostert had communicated with them on the radio as an ambulance arrived on the track. Mostert’s parents Eddie and Maree were looking on from the team garage.
Mostert is the defending champion, winning last year’s race with Paul Morris.
An ambulance spokesperson told V8 Supercars TV broadcasters the Seven Network that Mostert was “conscious, breathing and talking but does have an injury”.
Officials said Mostert would be airlifted from the track via helicopter.
Mostert had been the bookies’ favourite to claim pole in his Bathurst title defence.
Officials said qualifying had been postponed until Saturday.
It marked Mostert’s second horror crash in three years on the mountain.
Mostert emerged unscathed when he made heavy contact at Reid Park with his Ford in 2013 practice on his Bathurst 1000 debut. Last year, he won the Great Race with Paul Morris in a famous last-to-first effort.
“First of all, we hope Chaz is all right. He’s got to get back on the horse, but it’s a pretty powerful horse,” two-time Bathurst champion Russell Ingall told the Seven Network.
“This may relive memories (of previous crash for Mostert).”

Re: Bathurst 1000 2015
After Whincup cracked 2:05 (1st time it's been done) Mostert was doing his best to match it. Horrendous crash. And the 5 marshalls were lucky not to be killed. And Mostert didn't emerge unscathed - he broke a leg and a wrist.
The accident cancelled Qualifying, which will now be held this morning.

Mad rain at the top of the mountain cancels the Carrera Cup race before the Top 10 shoot out.

Rain has made the Top 10 a lottery, Reynolds lucky enough to get the best of the conditions to take the Pole.

Only $5000 prize. He's still $20,000 short after his "pussy wagon" comment earlier in the week.

Aye, Reynolds had the luck of the draw but did put in easily the best of the first 4 during the relatively dry period. The next 6 had diabolical conditions. I enjoyed the Giz's effort on a saturated track. He really is a wet weather master.
Congrats to Dave Reynolds and Dean Canto on pole.

Reynolds tells fans not to pay off his fine; he wants to take responsibility for his words.
Or he regards it as $25,000 well spent.
