Re: Pakistan v England, 2nd Test, Dubai, 22-26 October, 2015
As expected, Pakistan declared after batting England out of game. Pitch is still behaving alright and it has not dis-integrated as much, no minefield by any means. English top order have again shown enough spine. Its high time for Middle order and lower middle order to do what is overdue, show some fight.
I will say Pakistan 80% favourite to win from here but I will not put it beyond England to secure an unlikely fighting draw.

A scratchy 40 shouldn't be enough to save Bell. He never should have been taken on this tour. He should have been told to rest up, and then perhaps be considered for the South Africa tour. Burnout must be a factor with him. He's been playing cricket in one form or another pretty much non stop since he was 16 years old. I'm not sure about the theory that his eyes are going. Look at Misbah- 41 years old and still scoring runs for fun at test level. His eyes seem to be fine. I think it's all to do with workload. Misbah didn't really become a regular member of the Pakistan side until he was 34. Even Bell is younger than that now, but he's been on the international cricket treadmill for over 10 years.
Does he have time to make a comeback? Maybe if he piles on the runs early next season in County cricket.

"I'm not aware of any injury, except for the amount of hours he's spent hunched over a bat handle scoring thousands of runs," Farbrace said. "He never looks the best mover anyway. I've never really seen him flying around, that's why he's made such a great success at slip. But because of his hand he's been out of the slips, perhaps it's showing up a bit more because he's not been in the slips during this game."- Paul Farbrace
So the official line on Cook is- "He's not injured, he's just a shit athlete."

Maybe the reason he has been out of the slips for this game is ......

Root gone. Just a question if England can hold out for the draw.

Yasir Shah to Bairstow, OUT, oh cripes, that's cleaned him up! A pretty awful shot, as Bairstow wafted tamely around his front pad without much conviction or footwork. A well-flighted googly sneaks through the gap and shivers his timbers!
Oh dear

That's because Stokes, like the rest of the lower middle, can't play spin bowling. This was known before the series started.

Maybe. But I read somewhere that Stokes has recently read a book by Big Jim Smith on how to play spin bowling. So there was a good chance that he would be a roaring success.

Yes, safety is in sight.
Radish has shown enough to be encouraged; time for Moeen to go. Buttler, Bell and Bairstow may yet accompany Buttler ... time for Davies again?

Thought we'd be long gone. Looonnnnggggg gone. I'm proud of our numbers 8 & 10 for showing some semblance of technique and gumption.... Shame about 5, 6 & 7, eh? Shame 2 & 3, eh? Not like we've had these problems for a while, eh?
