It probably is now. Brady strip sacked and Philly recover. They'll get a field goal at least which might give Brady time for an 8 point TD to tie and go to OT.

Most yards ever in an NFL game! And they say defense wins championships? Well, I suppose the one big defensive play ultimately won it!

Re: American Football Thread
A bit like those 3-3’s and 4-3’s we sometimes get between the Premier League big guns (excluding Man Utd)... pundits highlight the “shocking defending”.
I’ve seen NFL games that are like that in the second half when the defenses have nothing left, but it seemed they had very little in the tank right from the start here!

Nick Foles the first backup QB to win the big one since... Tom Brady. In 2001.
Just think of the equivalent of Brady’s Super Bowl career span, a player in action tonight making it back there in 2035.

The Philly kicker would only be about 32 by then!

Anyway, maybe the Eagles could now trade Wentz to Cleveland for the #1 and #4 picks...

Cheeseheads all over the world will be drowning their sorrows.
The quote was from last season but here we are, first game of the new season & once again Aaron Rodgers departs the scene on a cart.
It's depressing being a cheesehead.
........ and they are going to lose to Chicago!
EDIT ... Thankfully Rodgers is back on the field but a bit inconvienced with the injured knee.

Now the Packers have hit the front 24 - 23 with 2:13 left.
At one stage, the Bulls led 20 - 0 .
Rodgers can barely walk but he has orchestrated an amazing comeback win.

Nathan “Pickerman” lives up to his nickname... has there been a worse starting QB after 3 games?

Christ he's got a pass to run game, a great long pass game and he can run it himself if nothing else works. And he did it on one leg. Worth every cent. Like watching Jim Kelly in his prime.

He can take some of his defensive staff and roster with him.
On a brighter note Georgia didn't make the CFP despite the misguided lobbying.

Heard an interview with Brady on SEN. It's on the station's podcast if anyone is interested. Worth a listen.

Re: American Football Thread
It is always a bit rough seeing someone's life collapse in a heap before your eyes but a few hundred million people got to see it today when the Chicago Bears kicker hit the post and then the cross bar in missing a match winning field goal.
3/4 away teams win the wildcard playoff round. Could be a very unpredictable finals series.
Meanwhile, Bama v Clemson Round 4 is a few hours away.

I note former Swans Academy player, Michael Dickson made the All Star team. He would be the best paid of all Academy alumni and will end up being paid more than Buddy Franklin.
Heard an interview with him a while ago. A level headed kid but with a lovely sense of humour.

Keeping Bama TD less for the last 40 minutes is also pretty impressive.
