Great win for the Bloods this arvo.

Currently very tight between the Power and the Beagles.

A crackajack final quarter ends with teams tied at 60-all. Power had all the running in extra time but Eagles hung on and got a free for a high within 50 as time ran out. Goal was slotted to win the game.

Classic Finals footy.

Aye...very exciting. Zimmy will be beside himself and would have had to change his robes several times in the last 20 minutes of the game and extra time.

Finals Footy on tonight.

Looks like it will be raining in buckets. I blame Lardy.

Hoping for a good game where the Bloods prevail.

If Diver Selwood gets 6+ frees, the Bloods will be in strife.

Hmm, does the rain benefit the Cats, who have looks slow and ponderous of late.

Bloods possess greater skills than the Cats and like dry grounds.

We should win and will have no excuse if we lose.

hehehe...not my usual call. I suggest you check the free count in the last AFL GF and the ump performance in Weasel games from the mid 2000s.

Whine never acknowledges the efforts of the oppo and instead blames his team or the refs. Have never seen/heard him take personal responsibility.

Commiserations Horrie, skully, JGK et al.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see the final result on landing in Brisbane tonight.  I can only conclude that we played as well tonight as we played badly last Friday.  Anyway, however it happened, Sydney's great run has come to an end.  I really thought we had no chance; and then when I heard that Lonergan was unable to play on Franklin, I thought things were even worse. Another confusing result in a confusing season!

I got them at better than three yesterday thanks to the chats on this thread.

If it's any consolation horrie, every time I turned over the Cats seemed to be on the good side of 50/50 calls.

That said the Swans really were crap.

Yep the Cats got a couple of gifts from the Umps in Q1 but your last sentence precisely sums up the performance.

No excuses.

Shocking crowd for the GWS match. According to John Stanley tv numbers have been declining for the Swans this season too.

The GWS crowd was the lowest in a final since the first world war.

The AFL reaps what it sows.

I'm wondering if I should include the Cats in all-up hail mary with the NRL. Personally I think if both teams play to their potential the Cats win, but both teams have been too how's your father to offer comfort.

Maybe it took the Walsh business (and a couple of egregious trading balls-ups by my mob), but GO CROWS!! Especially if this time tomorrow we know the alternative is the orange and grey blow-ins.

Unlike the Blight teams, when they were the Johnny-come-latelys who'd been on the scene five minutes and weren't even close to the best going around, this crowd have well and truly paid their dues.

Any side winning from here will have deserved it, whether it's one of the sides that have occupied the top two spots all season or the fast-finishing Tigers.

I do share your sentiments regarding GWS to a degree, though.

I am not surprised by last night's result; Adelaide finished on top of the ladder clear of all other sides for a good reason.  They have no real weaknesses, multiple avenues to goal, and a very solid backline. They were always going to be tough to beat at home.  Only Richmond, at the MCG, supported by up to 95K Tiger fans can stop them now.
