Was thinking of going to this, but SL have proved to be a major disappointment.

Amla gets an early present in his 100th:
24.2
Lakmal to Amla, no run, dropped, that's a huge moment! Full outside off, drawing him into a flat-foot drive and it carries low to gully. Should have been held by de Silva

Here's one of our statsgurus, Bharath Seervi: "Only the second Test series in which Duminy has made 2 50+ scores. The first time he did was in his first series, in Aus 2008-09."

Okay.
61.5
Kumara to Duminy, FOUR, tucked into the leg side for another single

Amla's average creeps back over fifty. Defensive to send a nightwatchman in when you're so far ahead of the game.

Bavuma averaging 4.20 for the series.
Temba Bavuma's average in this series - the worst by a SA player batting 5 or more inns in top-7 positions in a series. His scores: 3, 8, 10, 0, 0.

de Kock gives his wicket away to end the innings. SA struggled today. The pitch is doing a bit in overcast conditions.
Hard not to think that de Kock is batting too low. Nightwatchmen don't help him. Hard to believe the SA hierarchy rates Bavuma ahead of him.

Olivier on debut makes a meal of a relatively simple return catch.
He bowls with his short out and an oddish delivery stride, but has looked okay.
Abbott would have been a handful here.
Rabada blasts out Mendis.

Decent bowling by S.A. but a brain-dead display with the bat by Sri Lanka

Such a shame the Lankans are so rubbish away from their dusty bunsens. They smashed Aus at home only last year but get belted away by SAf, and highly probably by Eng, Aus and NZ as well once they get a chance.
The inability of most teams to adapt to away conditions continues to be a real challenge.

Well, in this instance it can't be the pitch - not if Duminy can get a score.
I wonder how much domestic boards care about overseas performance. If their team does reasonably well at home, thus generating decent broadcasting revenue, is there a shrug of the shoulders when away series are lost?

So our home summer series consisted of 3 tests against a shit SL team.

And now there is talk of AB making one day cricket a priority ahead of tests amidst suggestions that Bavuma is safe.

The pitch was definitely spicier that the usual Aussie flatties, but the Lankans batted poorly. Some appeared to be intimidated by short balls from Rabada.
Parnell and Olivier were among the wickets in the end.
BTW, SA took some sensational catches which didn't help the cause of the Lankans.
