The worry is that bowling looked a lot easier in the last 7 overs, just as the Aussies now have to come out to bat.  And with Reeks at 4, our batting looks light on.

Might not be a problem...

Nothing like an old rain dance.

Cummins leaked early but got better

Batting was ordinary. No surprise there given Reeks FFS at 4.

I beat BD in Warnerlotto.

Two wins will see you through regardless, no?

Even one win and a washout, most likely.

Top 2 of 4 progress.

So Aus dodged a bullet then. Soft cocks.

Still, looks a fair effort to "restrict" NZ to 291 from 2-216 at 33 overs. A rare 6-fer to Hazy.

SL win the toss & bowl v SA. Mathews out, Malinga in. Looks like Morkel will play for SA.

300 is the target for the Lankans. Amla made a ton, but Duminy made the total challenging with an excellent cameo at the end. Faf batted pretty well.

Both captains wanted to bowl first.

Lankans off to a swift start. SA's batting was a bit stodgy at times; they might live to regret that.  Rabada put down a return chance.

Parnell getting thrashed around the park; Lankans well head of the RR.

Lankans amazingly going at over eight per over, in complete contrast to de Kock and Amla who were really slow  and conservative early on. Of course the Lankan bowlers were so much better than the profligate Parnell and Rabada.

Lankans fifty off forty balls, SA took 83 balls to reach their half ton. Surely their batsmen have to be more aggressive in mindset. Parnell nearly going at ten per over. Surprised AB keeps bowling him.

They really miss Abbott.

Morkel gets Dickwella with his second delivery. Wonder why it took AB so long to make a change?

Liked Sanga as a commentator so far. Piss weak middle order from Sri Lanka. They desperately need Mathews there.

Hey Red, here's an off the wall theory. Maybe on a wicket that is doing a bit, it's like clever to adopt a conservative approach and set a target of 300, rather than chuck the bat and get rolled for 200.

Certainly SA later in their innings were a bit stodgy.

Lankans collapsed because of their inherent shiteness, but many other teams could have overhauled the 300 target on that pitch. Duminy's aggression got them up to the 300 target. Their middle order certainly stalled a bit.

Tharanga out for a couple of games due to the slow over rate. Out of the tournament, effectively.

Another off the wall theory is that batsmen nearing a ton in ODIs are a hindrance to their teams.
