Well there you go. All the preparation, all the prioritising, all the talk of fearless cricket and a bold new approach......it came down to this one game, and England meekly collapsed into an embarrassing, choking heap.

We will NEVER be consistently good at ODI cricket. Never. Let's just treat it for what it is- a lesser form of the game, and just concentrate on winning the ashes and becoming the best test side in the world. That's all the real fans of English cricket want.
