Australian ball tampering headlines.
I don't know about anyone else but i'm astonished at the blase ''yeah we tampered'' admittance by Smith and his colleague. How big or otherwise should/could this get? Fines? Bans? Could Smith step down? Or is this really a case of them getting caught where other sides do it but get away with it generally? So in essence a bit unlucky? How do you see it?

You’re a bit of an idiot if you think that sucking on mints in the perceived but unproven notion that sugary saliva aides in shining the ball is the same as a player blatantly using sandpaper/an abrasive substance to directly rough the ball up, then clumsily trying to hide the evidence when caught out on camera. Oh,and the captain then admitted that several members of the team where in on it, but refused to give exact names, effectively throwing the cloak of suspicion over the entire team.....what a brave hero Smith is......

You really are a special one if you believe it doesn't.
Next you will claim Atherton having Dirt in his pocket and using it on the ball was all ok.

Ball tampering is NEVER ok. But here’s a fact for you- applying saliva to the ball to assist in shining it is legal. Applying sandpaper to deliberately rough it up is not......there’s a pretty emphatic difference right there.

Bottle tops, rubbing lozenges on the ball, Vaseline, mints, dirt, fingernails ... it's all poor. No moral high ground.

I reckon Mrs R will get at least two games plus fines from CA
Warner and. Lyon, the leadership group supporting Seasick may be fined by CA. The gcspoc should not have been appointed to a leadership role.
Seasick will cop a two game penalty. I expect CA will put him on notice.

Hopefully more robust than the wet lettuce floggings copped after similar instances in the past.
Any spectators with FC experience and under 40 on tour with Merv? Will need fill-ins for Smith and Warner at least.

Suspect any sanction against Mrs R will be 1 game (+ 1 game suspended) being a first offence.
Leadership group 75% match fee fines.
Smith Two games.

Seriously...how did these dickheads think they could get away with it when every movement is captured on camera.

Re: Australian ball tampering headlines.
This is arguably the most serious case of ball tampering ever in that a group of players has conspired to take sandpaper on to the ground with the intention of altering the ball to expedite reverse swing.
Last test SA and commentators were convinced that Warner was using the tape on his hand to manipulate the ball and were accused of whingeing, but in this new light, the early reverse swing we are getting could be due to artificial means.
It feels like that Bancroft has been thrown under the bus like Trevor Chappell was all those years ago, though most callers last night expressed the feeling that this Donald trumps the underarm.

Indeed, when there are even cameras homing in on individuals in stairwells, how did they think they could get away with it?

Re: Australian ball tampering headlines.
Lord James Sutherland has deigned to give a presser at 12.00pm AEDT.
His schedule of Church followed by fatted calf for lunch and several plonks of distinguished vintage has been amended to allow growth of the bacteria levels necessary to deliver some Sunday homilies.
Personally I doubt this has been the first time Oz has engaged in ball tampering, as Seasick claims.Hopefully Foxy will offer coverage of the presser.
Personally I would be happy if gcspoc was removed from any leadership role. I would like Lord James to indicate Oz will plead guilty and not contest the tampering charges and will reserve its right to impose further sanctions on the players and any of the coaching staff who were proven to be involved.

Who is the Oz bowling coach?
Phaphuk should NEVER be allowed near a cricket team again
Steve Smith should not be given the option of stepping down ....just sack him
Test cricketers need a serious reboot about acceptable behaviors on and off the field

Normally I'd say Lyon to Yale over but surely he was part of the lg. And every channel in the country is taking that presser live.

Sutherland to talk at midday.
You’d think Smith would be suspended by the ICC anyway but Aust will probably say he will not be captain for a period of probably a year or more.

And while not excusing Smith’s actions, it would neve4 have occurred if Rabada ‘s suspension hadn’t been reduced.
