Hopefully the first Test will be a rain affected draw.

I’d take that... still think we’ll get smashed in the Ashes, we have no top order and are relying on a couple of ageing pacemen who can’t have a lot left in the tank.JGK wrote:beamer wrote:Australia haven’t won at Edgbaston in any format since 2001

Although maybe by picking Roy and Joffrey we could carry some of the momentum through from the one-day side.

These are two pretty ordinary Test teams. The bowling for each is ok , the batting is not. The Poms have a history of dialling up pitches. No doubt this will happen again. But given the team's, I feel for the poor old curators.

One for your Politics XI, to follow shortly?PeterCS wrote:Did I hear right, that Jeffrey Archer's coming out of retirement?
I call him Joffrey after the GoT character, if you’re one of the uninitiated... he was almost as nasty as Jofra’s bouncers

Well played Poms on making the final
Adopted an aggressive style of cricket after the failure of the last Gilly and have stuck with it. Credit to them for developing that and carrying it out

There is no doubt Roy deserved to be punished, but to reward Dharmasena......

Re: World Cup 2019
not that i know of
umpire review tends to be "process following" rather than "correct decisions"
All organisations "protect" their umpires from criticism so I doubt there is anything official

Well, it’s nearly midday, so getting towards beer o’clock... was imagining sitting outside watching this on my iPad with a cold pint or three today, but not quite the ideal summer weather so far.
