I have said for a long time that politics should be kept out of sport and i recall Ian Botham and Mike Atherton saying the same thing some years back. Sport is played at the highest level for one reason, to win big things. Losing games by being able to claim wonderful moral high ground is farcical. Winning is the only thing that matters in any sport, especially at the top level. Nobody remembers who came 2nd or 3rd.
