Only moderate massacring now.
Conditions look odd for at least a very decent reply. But you need a lot of spirit to fetch that up. at times like this. Also batsmen in good form. And mediocre bowling. And a bit of luck. We'll see.

Fizzling out a bit now... two batsmen on 0 at the crease. Might not even make 480!

Damp squib finish, didn’t even match the Snoozer women v Ireland. Can we defend this I wonder?

Inexperienced and now crushed bowlers. None of this lot are even close to being the best bowler from their state, but here they are, "developing".
Developing mental scars.
What on earth is Stoinis doing bowling for Australia, ever?
Neser and Lyon would seem more resilient than Tye and the Richardsons.
Two more to go, ah well.

Nobody quite did a Mick Lewis FFS... perhaps surprisingly, only one bowler made the century, and that off the final ball of the innings!
They didn’t quite make it half way. Can we enforce the follow-on?

In a 50 overs format (arguably even T20) you need not only 5 who can bowl to make up the quota overs at all, you need a sixth for the possibility of flexible end changes, changes in bowling/fielding plans, adjustments to the possible changing state of the match, tactics of the batting side. Six who can bowl (well) is to me a sensible bare minimum.
But the seventh up your sleeve. At least to a level of, say, a Root. As I tried to explain above.
The problem of "bits and pieces" is not having too many bowlers, but not good enough players.
Absolute horseshit.
You have four main bowlers and two who can make up the other ten. If you need to go to a seventh you are in deep shit anyway.
The old saying that bowlers win tests and batsmen win ODI's still stands.
England have been notorious for picking bits and pieces players
Do you think "absolute horseshit" is not a bit splenetic, in the context of a debate about best configurations of ODI lineups?
If someone is talking absolute horseshit, no.

Records tumbled …
481 - Highest ODI score ever
Morgan posted the fastest 50 for an England batsman (21 balls)
Morgan passed the Bellhop's record to become the highest scoring England batsmen.
Highest win margin ever (242 runs)
Frankly, the whole show today was highly embarrassing.
England made batting look easy - Australia didn't.

This team is turning in to something quite special. Means nothing if we don’t back up these performances with silverware though (ie the world cup).

Same team that lost to the Irish Firsts, though.

This is why we won’t win the World Cup. Some insane performances but our occasional off days will wreck us at the knockout stage of a World Cup.lardbucket wrote:Same team that lost to the Irish Firsts, though.

Cbnlg avoids the media, preferring to hang back and building elite male bonding behind closed doors. It's all a beautiful thing..
Poor old battered and bruised Ima fronts the media. Nice bloke and an average one day domestic cricketer and a less than average Shield player. Not his fault. This is the first cbnlg team. It is his elite mateship team.
I feel for Tye, Agar and warpie Richo.
Clearly not up to that.

Sutherlands push for T20 to take precedence over all other formats, including the Sheffield Shield, is coming home to roost. We are just not producing quality long format players any more.

Aye BD. We even selected a coach based on his success in the Babel. Happily Boof was coach when we played the Ashes.
