Instead of the Litmus Test we have the Latham test to prove minnow status.

Re: Current International One Day Cricket
I’d read this article a few days ago- after England lost their first ODI. Found it quite amusing.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/dec/05/harry-brook-believes-england-can-take-heart-from-perfect-batting
I can’t imagine a scenario in which you lose a game and still call your batting perfect, but Brooks managed it. I hope they didn’t interview him after the next game (which I think they won) because he’d quite like have passed out from ecstasy.

After their ODI series victory over the moral world champions, I note that WI are also now up 2-0 in the 20-20 stuff. Can England win 3 on the trot to gain a real series victory? It seems doubtful. Are they demoralised?

SA beat India in their most recent jAMODI, so not quite dead.
In another match just completed. NZ has chased down a Manic 295 highlighted by Soumya Sarkar’s 169 …
Chasers seem to win more often than not.

I'm sure they were moral victors in both.

I’ve never seen them excel so conspicuously in that field. Whinging AND deluded crowing all at the same time, for months on end. It’s like they’ve been infected by a virus and suffering a Bunter and Piers Morgan apocalypse.

Re: Current International One Day Cricket
Afghanistan started well in their T20 against India having them 4/22 after 4.3 overs including Kohli first ball. However, things went downhill after that with Rohit Sharma (121*) & Rinku Singh (69*) putting on a partnership of 190. India finished with 4/212
One crucial moment was when Rinku was given out LBW to Qais Ahmad. He reviewed & the snicko showed a spike as the ball passed the bat. However, there was a clear gap on the vision. Very fishy!
The last over bowled by Karim Janat went for 36 runs & the last 5 overs cost 103.

Well, they do run the whole shebang these days and they’ve clearly figured out how to turn technology to their advantage.

Re: Current International One Day Cricket
Rohit retired out in the first super over to let rinku in to run quicker, but then was allowed to bat again immediately after in the 2nd super over. This seems against the laws:
the ICC Playing Conditions in case of a tied super over, “Any batsman dismissed in any previous
Super Over shall be ineligible to bat in any subsequent Super Over.”
I suppose Rohit insisted he hadnt been dismissed but it seems dodgy to me.
