How could you overlook Mitch Marsh, and I think there are a couple of Prestwidges going around. A few married couples amongst the ladies, too, so that Mitch Starc and Alyssa Healy aren’t unique.

Although the Wozzies somehow let 29 year old straight breaking T20 specialist Chris Green take 9 wickets on his FC debut.
Straight breaks, but the arm isn’t always straight imo

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
So the Billies did fail to humiliate SA, and may regret that later in the season. Meanwhile the Wozzies have somehow contrived to open the door for the Dubbers, who are known for their love of a back door entry. Hopefully the Dubbers are so hopeless that they will blow their ill-deserved chance. Tassie plays Victoria from tomorrow; opposition we always struggle against, so my fingers are crossed. From 1 December there are three Shield games, and the table leading into Christmas after that round won’t change until the Shield resumes in February.
Go the Tozzies ...

Sam Elliott, son of Matthew, and Campbell Kellaway, nephew of former Tigers Duncan and Andrew, debut for the Vic's today v Bicranials.
By all accounts it's a dodgy pitch so Sam and Campbell will have to bat, er, Responsibly.....

Bowler's game in this Shield round.
Spivs smashed by the Sandies, and the Viles getting hammered by the Tozzies (although the Barrels/Banjos match was drawn).

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
It seems that ¾ of all games this Shield season are being played in bowler friendly conditions. Is this good for the competition? I'm not saying they should be batting paradises either. A happy medium would be be nice.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
Watched a bit on the streamer. Good fun batting inc from Elliot's son Sam who made 80* to go with his 3 wickets. Not a bad debut. Good to see the outgunned inexperienced Vix making a go of it. Tas should win but have to work for it. Good cricket.
Love the commentary on the stream.

For Lardy- Bird and. Sids both delivered master classes in how to bowl lively medium pace. Have no doubt Rogers got the young Vic Quicks to closely watch them.

TAS win by 4 wickets. Comfortable win but a little tighter than expected.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
One more round before Christmas. I’m really enjoying the Shield after the T20 bandwidth wastage. Feels like a golden summer for a few name players (Neser, Byrd, Steketee, Siddle, Kelly) whilst others have struggled (Abbott, Tremain, Conway, and has Copeland retired?). Good to see Renshaw and perhaps Handscomb pressing for selection again and young Hardie continues to impress.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
Last round before Christmas:
Vic v NSW - a likely win to VIC
Tas v SA - Tas should win at home and be sitting comfortably in second place going into Christmas, could eve be *1
WA v QLD - top of table clash; WA should win but QLD could help Tassie out here by winning or better still making this a draw

Most likely Stobo and either Fanning or Cartwright to miss.

Blake Nikitaras (son of Steve) is another who has played a few Shield matches lately.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
A maiden first class century for Nathan McSweeney.
He showed promise for Australia Under 19s but struggled for quite a while to make runs at Sheffield Shield level. It wasn't until his 8th game that made a fifty when he scored 99 not out in the final match last season. However, he has performed okay this season.
