Although the declaration looks quite generous. 281 runs required on d4; it’s a possibility if we aren’t marmalized by Abbott again.

Definitely a possibility to get the 281.
Interesting to note that Zampa was among the wickets today, so a perhaps a sign the wicket is starting to take some spin.

Buggier all runs in the TAS outfit. Batting IMA at 6 shows how thin the batting stocks are.
Will still be barracking for TAS.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
Three games next week ...
Tas plays WA (top of table) in Hobart, must win really
Vic plays SA in Melbourne - both in contention now. Declarations might be needed to get a result and I think they're likely as both teams are likely to drop out of calculations if it's a draw. Maxwell apparently in line to play.
QLD plays NSW in Chip Central. The Chips are likely to consign the evil Dubbers to the 2022-23 dustbin, firming their own finals qualification ... unless rain screws them over.

Vic v SA well advanced after day 1 and 15 wickets! Shite batting seems to be de rigeur in Australian cricket generally. Neither Harris nor Hunt advanced claims for the vacant Ashes tour opening spot.

might need to start looking at the number 3s. But if Anderson, Broad etc are on song, it won't matter who we open with, they won't last long

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
Only real action today: Inglis pushed for Carey’s spot, Matt Short again displayed his impressive credentials. I think Inglis has done enough to make the Ashes squad already. I’m still not sure we need Carey going forwards.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2022-2023
Just Short’s second ton after 40+ games. Prior to his current purple patch he must have been on his last chance.
That said he batted beautifully in both knocks.
In Sterling Johnson SA may finally have found a genuine quick. He was most impressive in his debut and fully deserving of his Michelle.

Vic's win with ease. Tas in a pickle. Good fightback from the Chips.
In other news CV is making an offer to Sids to return in a player mentor role.

Looking increasingly like a WA v QLD final, with Vic now the only other likely challengers to play off v WA in Perth.

Stoinis is not playing for Marsh (and Bog is also out)
Turner would be the one who replaces Wylie if they go that way
Agar misses out on another red ball game to prepare for being a tourist in a JAMODT

Made 28 or so and was out to a smart C&B. Yep seemed a cheeky kid. Green was the Spivs best bat. They are a poor team despite all the experience

Still no Puck. Harris probably in his final audition for the Ashes.
