Jesus, what an amazing comeback by the never-say-die Panthers.

Against a fluent Slime team, they were awful for 70 minutes. Dropped balls, failed miracle passes, low completion rate and lots of missed tackles. Then Liam Martin gets binned for a stupid late hit with 14 mins to go. So much poor discipline from Penrith.

The Slimeys played very good footy to lead the game for all but the last 2 minutes.

Eels in front 34-20 with 9 minutes on the clock, then the Houdinis go to work, scoing 3 tries in 8 minutes to take the lead. Then probable MoM Gutho shanks an attempted penalty kick that would've levelled.

Unbelievable by Penrith. Bad but got away with it. A heartbreaker for Eels fans.

Looks like the Western Australia and North Sydney Bears deal will be approved by the NRL.

The Western Bears will likely join the comp in 2027.

Yeah, pretty embarrassing stuff, Nath.

I'm currently up the coast in Port Macuarie and tuned into the game to see the lake at Allianz.

I spoke to my daughter back in Sydney and asked "how bad was the rain in Sydney?". She said that there was barely any rain on the upper North Shore at our place (40 mins from Allianz) but Randwick had a brief storm.

Pretty ordinary when the Govt spends nearly a $billion on a stadium and it can't handle a 30 minute storm.

The Western Bears club will make the NRL a truly national competition, returning top-flight rugby league to Perth and drawing on the heritage of the North Sydney Bears, which dates to 1908,” they said in a statement.

Aye W, he was a key player in Souths' Premierships in the late 60s/early 70s and Easts' Premierships in 74 & 75.

Arty Beetson dubbed him the greatest Grand Final player in the game.

Geez, the Slimeys are bad at closing out games.

They were up 16-0 and snotting the Nags but then slowly but shirley let them back into the game.

They handed the match to the Broncs between the 60th and 70th minutes with Blaize Talagi coughing one up straight into Reynolds hands for him to scoot under the posts from 30 out, then Sivo took an air swing at a Reynolds bomb to let Staggs in for a soft try.

Nags stay alive in 2024, and the Eels get closer to getting the Spoon.

Poor effort by the Pennies v a gutsy Raiders side in the capital today. They had 60% of the ball and 70% of territory but still couldn't win.

They could drop to 4th this weekend.

The Dragons are so soft. Needing to win today to consolidate a place in the top 8, they were their usual ill-disciplined, error-riddled, tackle-missing selves. They got to 10-14 v Sharks but then bumbled and stumbled their way to a 38-10 loss. Galling.

They either win by 2 or lose by 30, usually in alternating weekends. Hence a really shithouse for and against points difference.

So in recent times, what percentage of NRL games finish in a draw after extra (golden point) time?

So for the Dragons to make the final eight:-

They need to defeat the Raiders

.. and the Dolphins v Knights game needs to finish in a draw

OR they to defeat the Raiders by a really huge score

Simples!

The Raiders were immense in defence today v R00ters. The exact opposite of standard St George.

So I can't see the Dragons threatening the Raiders.
