Unlike other countries, people in different states have their own regional language which tends to influence the english they speak.

The current generation though has more american accent than Indian.

Hell I wouldn't know Punjabi standups apart from Malayalam or Tamil, Or Udipi or Telugu or Bangla or Kairali stand ups in India as well. They would all still sound the same as French or Latin or Spanish or Arabic or Greek.

Blame the languages. Don't compare. All of them aren't the same.
